Not an exposure if you have been watching boxing and knew about this fight. The way I see it though is Benavidez squares up too much for a guy like Canelo. IMO it is an easier fight than against Plant. Canelo won’t have to work for his food. It will be right there for him all night until he chooses the right shots and openings to unload.

Canelo will be able to plant his feet in close range and tee off while also dodging those pit pat punches David throws.

Looks like he caught him out of balance. What was the outcome?

based oin athletic talent and punching power alone i expect plant to have a tougher time with canelo. benavidez comes from a family of talented boxers. his brother was supposed to be the next best thing but he didn't train hard and was a street dude and got shot and wasted his prime years. both guys boxed at wildcard as teenaged boys. plant looks like an accountant. dude probably had to work 2x as hard as everyone else in the gym to get half as far. he stuck with it and everyone else left, and here he is today. i expect him to have absolutely nothing to throw back at canelo, like rocky fielding, and to take a beating for as long as he stands up. he might have a couple extra nuances to his game, but i'd rather have a puncher's chance than have a coupole extra tricks and still be woefully outgunned by a better boxer and puncher in canelo. in other words, it's more likely that benavidez catches canelo than it is that plant can outbox him.

i don’t disagree but I also don’t buy the whole family thing. David Benavidez is not his brother. They have similar styles but at 168 if Benavidez doesn’t add footwork and better defense he will always get the shorter stick against the elite. Plant with lose for sure and likely even get stopped. Canelo will have to run and find it though. With David, Canelo is slick enough and has better footwork to not only catch him, but catch him often without getting flush shots landed on him.

Benavidez is a come forward fighter. That’s always going to be an easier fight for the natural counter puncher in Canelo.

Well, just make sure to archive this so it doesn't end up like the Sconiers/Wilder fight and completely scrubbed one day.

But it's helpful, I mean maybe this will get NSB to stop claiming that Benavidez has a chance against Canelo.

I don’t get it was this previous deleted off the net? We all know he was KD in this fight, wasn’t Gavril a Mayweather fighter?
