Although I think Arum is a cranky old boor and can be difficult to deal with, the real problem is Al Haymon and PBC. Haymon isn't even a boxing fan and views his stable of fighters as mere commodities' to make money from.

He encourages inactivity, or minimum activity, and also deliberately makes it difficult to make cross-promotional fights.

It's actually quite frustrating to watch Crawford sitting there like a shag on a rock, hoping to get a meaningful fight before he ages out. Although he's often mentioned as a P4P fighter, he still needs to prove himself against tough opposition like Spence, Thurman, heck even fights some tough up and comers, prospects anybody.

The only way for Crawford to get out of this predicament is to fight often, against good opposition so hopefully, his value rises, and then the pressure will mount on the guys with the belts to fight him.

Or, he moves back down to 140, which is arguably a tougher division now than when Crawford cleaned it out.

Moving up would only result in a similar situation as Charlo is a Haymon fighter, and now there's a rematch for all the marbles, he'll have to wait at least a year probably more to take on anyone of note.

Most fans think he may be too small for the 154 pounders.

Or Shawn Porter can take him out and show Crawford wasn't as good as advertised. For me the stakes are high and would love to see this fight PPV or not. I have respect for both men. This fight answers a lot of questions.
What are Loma's defining wins? Someone like Ward can say Froch or Kovalev. Froch can say Groves. With Loma and I'm not targeting him, it's still Russell, in a close fight. I remember him more for his losses to Salido and Lopez than all his other wins, except Russell. GGG is the same. His best win is Lemieux. Neither Canelo fight can be named a career defining win. I thought he lost both. I think Derevyanchenko was robbed. Crawford's best win is still Gamboa, IMO.

Porter is sleep inducing. I can't see him being exciting against anyone.

Finally T. Duckford will face real pressure. if he gets passed Porter then he can fight the Spence vs Pacquiai winner

I hope this goes to purse bid. I really want to see who is backing their fighter here. Arum already said he is losing money on Bud, let’s see what he does here and let’s see what Haymon does here too. One would be exposed if this goes to purse bid.

"The WBO announced Wednesday night that the purse split for Crawford-Porter would be 60-40 in Crawford’s favor if it goes to purse bid. The WBO’s purse bids typically favor the champion by an 80-20 margin, but the WBO evaluated the purses for both boxers’ past three fights and determined 60-40 would be fair."

Thank you again WBO! All the idiots saying "Why don't Porter enforce his mandatory status?" Well that was why! He wasn't going to do that for 20%!!! Glad the WBO made the changes! They must really want this fight to happen! Or maybe they really did NOT want Crawford vs. Zepeda to happen?

Truthfully, if Crawford is really leaving Top Rank after this fight, then losing the purse bid to Matchroom or PBC would be the best possible outcome for Bob. He wuld probably get somewhere between 15% and 25% of Crawfords purse as the losing bidder, and would have ZERO liability for anything relating to this promotion.

You still managing/promoting Soupy, how's he doing?

Not really given his size and the climate. Not every boxer is gonna sell like Floyd, Manny or Canelo. Tank definitely had a base that supports him.

Here’s the problem with what you are saying, Davis is a proven ppv commodity. Crawford otoh hasn’t drawn flies to horse****. His own promoter says he loses money on him on regular NETWORK TV
