your context is way out of whack!

Look at the thread title. Here's what I've said:
1.) $80 is too much
2.) Mexicans from Cali and Texas will buy the PPV
3.) LDBC Haymonites pretend they'll be buying a Plant PPV lol... Davis' numbers did low and that kid represents the LDBC Hoodlums...not Plant
4.) Canelo gets guarantess regardless, the biggest prize fighter, hence ''he gets paid''
5.) Plant would get paid
6.) Perhaps Haymon wants a success so that he can offer more future fights. THe endgame is that when Plant loses, Haymon would have gained Canelo's trust, assuming he likes the guarantee and future ease of negotiations. Canelo doesn't care if Haymon doesn't get a profit or if the networks do poor, he just needs to get paid.Comment

im reminding you that tank doesnt GAF, nor do i or anyone else for that matter, care whether or not you think tanks ppv was a success or not......hes still succeeding and making money and gaining more exposure...more than bud was at 26...more than spence was at 26...loma was just giving up fighting kids in headgear at 26...lol....stay madComment

Good that it going to happen.
Shame that it will be on PPV.
The PPV model is dead. But if any active boxer can still sell good numbers, Canelo is among those handful of boxers. Very few of them. Probably 3-4.
I’m not missing this fight for sure. I will pony up the $70-80 it will cost. But I disagree with that model of airing fights.Comment

Since Canelo is adamant on not being tied to any promotional platform,I highly doubt PBC is able to lure him in for any significant amount of time. PBC would have to be complete idiots to offer both Plant and Jermall with no future options because those belts are as good as gone if they do. Now if Goldenboy takes thier stable elsewhere then like you I'd have to think about re-upping my subscription...but then again,at $8.50/month for those remaining fighters still seems like bargain to me...far cry from having to buy 3-4 ppvs at $80/pop for the likes of Tank vs Barrios or even a Spence vs Porter.
Yes, up to now it's been a fantastic deal, but Canelo is now a mercenary, he will fight on the platform with the highest bid. I won't buy an annual subscription at this moment not knowing whether two Canelo fights are guaranteed or if Golden Boy decides to take their stable elsewhere at years end.Last edited by Sctrojan; 07-20-2021, 04:12 PM.Comment
