If Vitali wins it will be even harder for King to deny him fights against his champs. A fight with Byrd would probably follow soon. If Rahman wins King has promised us a unification tournament. So hopefully one way or another the heavyweight situation will sort itself out. The Vitali - Rahman fight is the best thing to happen to the division in a long time.

Vitali is definitely the real champ. And if Rahman beats him , barring some irregularity (which is not comletely impossible - see Lewis - Klitschko), he will be considered the real champ. I lend a lot of credence to the Ring Magazing ranking and they have Vitali as champ. (so does HBO, but that doesn't really count! ) I think most people also follow the Ring's rankings. But I think Vitali needs to take another belt to be considered the real champ in almost everyone's (there will always be the haters) mind. But to get there we get ino the whole Don King, WBC mandatory challenger (why is Rahman the mandatory, is he more deserving than Chris Byrd who has a win over him?) and contract disputes. So he'll have a rough time convincing the people that are unbelievers until there is an actual tournament with belt holders (wait for it!) fighting each other!

I realize Rahman has power and is half decent contender but lets take a trip back to reality. Klitscko is gonna beat Rahman by stoppage. Klitscko is really good and i don`t see anyone at the moment in the division who can trouble him too much!

King might demand one if the fight's close, but if Vitali beats him soundly then there'll be no way. The thing is that King is fighting a losing PR battle with this...he knows that more and more people are calling Vitali the true champ and losing respect for his fighters, which is costing him $$$. In order to maintain any credibility in the division he'll have to start putting up his champs against Vitali soon, as long as Vitali keeps demonstrating his dominance in the division. King knows that if he loses control of the division now it will be tough to get it back.
