I checked. THere are about 22K High Schools in the USA.

On the average there are 250K boy wrestlers, and 21K girl wrestlers.

We know that all these athletic students are into the UFC, and they use their parents credit cards to host and watch UFC events. What is also known is that boxing is too niche and a completely different field of sport. As far as I know, most high schools don't even acknowledge it for safety reasons. Wrestling is more safe. And unfortunately wrestling is intertwined into MMA.

So the fact that boxing is so niche with ratings, it's not comparable to UFC. besides, UFC is gay

Didnt seem to stop boxing any other time in history?

Some boxing fans get defensive and prideful about it but the real reason is simply that the UFC is a much better product tbh. Once the mainstream networks/media started giving it proper exposure (which wasnt the case until the late 00s/early 10s) the writing was on the wall.

      That doesn’t make any sense.

Wrestling is an American trademark in high schools like football teams. It means it’s word of mouth for games/events is part of high school culture. I assume High school wrestling has around 20 athletes per level up to “varsity.” It means all these wrestlers watch UFC or MMA because that’s part of their world, grappling etc. Now perhaps 10% of these students from within wrestling watch boxing. It’s always been like that even before UFC was invented. American wrestling has always been a hallmark sport up to Olympic level.

All it means is that American wrestling fans and high school culture are an intrigual part of the buy rate. That’s all it is. Since boxing is almost non existent nor regulated for American high schools means boxing is very strong.

look at the current wave of boxing. It’s booking with celebs wanting in. McGregor will be gone soon. I just don’t see the insecurity for boxing vs UFC. These markets don’t clash and it’s a shame fans compare the two when one sport is regulated or approved in high school academics. The influence is there.

naming fighters or marketing has nothing to do with the foundation, that wrestling and it’s fans carry UFC buyers, which naturally you’ll always have more buys.

Bud, they also tell us a pro boxer can't pick up high school kids' 4 whole years of training in any reasonable time frame. If they went to college it's a whole 8 years of training a professional boxer couldn't learn in a professional setting. Striking can be learned, you know, overnight, because it is so simple, but, grappling takes decades of dedication ... clearly their fanbase fanboys for one aspect of their sport.

The demographic is there as you've pointed out and the **** they say confirms it. Bunch of assgrabbin' clowns who reckon their assgrabbin' is super impressive.

Wrestling is much more child friendly than boxing. Many parents will let their children wrestle but not box because there is no head striking. Consequently you have much more participation.

We all know UFC is for people who can't or won't be able to make it in boxing. So it will always have a larger fanbase because there are a lot more kids wrestling who will subsequently be attracted towards it.

            Lol the sheer cope.

No need to overthink it and come up with all these convoluted excuses. Again, its just a better product that is also better marketed, which makes it more effective at winning over new fans.
