First of all, Pacquiao shouldn't receive ANY cricitisms. In the Delahoya fight, Oscar pretty much butchered his weight cutting. EVERYBODY--I mean, EVERYBODY thought he would go to 160 or above even Steward. Nobody was comtemplating the possibility of Oscar staying at the weight for so long that he couldn't rehydrate back the weight when both signed the contracts. Fair assessment?

With Cotto, there is no issue with catchweights titles as it is nothing new. Pacquiao is trying to even out the playing field - which is not much - considering Cotto has been able to cut to 146 several times in his recent bouts. Where was this drama with Oscar-Hopkins, Pernell-Chavez fights?

Normally the advantage goes to the bigger fighter, in this case it does too. Why are there people crying about 2lbs? Manny is still moving up 5.

Cotto will be fine, its only a lb less than he came in the last fight and this is a guy who used to fight @ 140 so it isn't unfamiliar territory for him. Cotto won't do a DLH, and he will come in the ring on fight night @ close to 160.

Don't forget to add FULL CREDIT for beating a legit WW. The belt was only thrown in their for the "record books"....I personally would rather have had Manny fight Cotto at 147 regardless of any title...means so little today anyway.

It cuts both ways: if fans and the media are critical of the FMJ-JMM matchup (he hasn't fought Marquez YET), then it is fair game to be critical of the Cotto-Pac matchup. That whole goose/gander thing.

Neither Oscar-Hopkins nor Pernell-Chavez were catchweight fights. Those were 160 and 147 , respectively. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes. oscar's team mismanaged the weight process. But Oscar hadn't made even the 147 limit in 8 or 9 years. That is essentially like asking Pac to fight Gamboa at 130 (or below) in his next fight.

I think Miguel Cotto is going to be fine. He always comes
to fight and has been fighting way bigger guys than Manny.
I don't see how people think Pac is going to destroy him?
Sure Pac has the skills to pull it off but Cotto has some skill
set and good power that can shake or break Pac easy.

This my friend is a great post...Cotto SHOULD KO Pac...he is the BIGGER fighter...but if Pac somehow breaks Cotto with his speed (I see the right hook while back pedalling landing all night) then Pac should get some credit from the naysayers....full credit had it been at 147lbs.

cotto has always been a big jr welter and now even at welter he's a stocky guy,he always outweighed guys at 140 and now he'll be about 155-156 fight night,he's just too big for manny,first flush shot landed it's goodnight for manny,manny is no clottey,margarito that took all cotto had,those guys are real welters,this is a super featherweight,lightweight fighting a natural welter...lol,good luck manny,this isn't old,weight drained oscar or overrated hatton
