Name recognition is everything to get casuals to watch a fight. More people would watch Jake Paul, face off against a punch bag (literally), than watch Charlo vs Castano. 99% of casual boxing fans will not have a clue who Castano is, and will not care to find out, some will know of Charlo, but likely seen very little of him.

I'm looking forward to it, I think Charlo wins relatively easy in a competitive fight, though you never know, it's interesting enough to me. I think Taylor vs Ramirez would have been electric in front of a crowd.

I do like fights for all the belts, but it's not a big deal to me, neither are title defences, or winning belts in multiple divisions. I think Ricky Burns was a four weight world champion, and not because he's great, but because he was facing quite weak guys (as far as title level is concerned) and so many rack up easy title defences.

Fury has no title defences, but he's widely regarded as clearly the best in his division, if not, P4P King, and if he had title defences over the likes of Brezeale Takam, Molina, and Parker, they wouldn't add too much weight to his overall resume, giving that he has Wlad, 11 year unbeaten, away from home, and two away from. home fights over Wilder. Kronk rules the HW scene. Nash out

Bro, look at your thread, 20 responses, 200 views. That actually shows how much less boxing fans value belts. Belt orgs are all crooked. NSB has the best and the most knowledgeable members in boxing, bar none.

Too many belts, too many champions and too much posturing. Boxing promoters are similar to record labels now, with boxers being show ponies or having poor opposition for the most part, Undisputed fights don't carry the same weight in public opinion as they once did, which is possibly due to the short attention span culture that we live in

Wow, thought they would maybe try Fite TV or something. #TeamStream it is!

I think promoters half ass undisputed because they like putting trinkets on their **** fighters and pretending those trinkets means something.

No UK tv has picked up the fight yet? Not even Fite TV?
Jermell should walk away from the ‘Charlo brothers’ act
its difficult as he’s the only one doing anything of note, at least for the past 4 years. Hard to carry a double act on your own

I think the casual boxing "fan" only cares about an Undisputed Heavyweight Champion as its the glamour division. Us actual fans more then likely want to see the divisions pruned down to HW-LH-MW-WW-LW-FW with only 1 belt per division. Obviously that'll never happen as money will always be the ultimate evil in boxing and literally dictates everything. Also, the undisputed stuff is great, but it doesn't last because each organization will have a mandatory which will need to a title defense deadline, thus stripping the belt holder of that title so 2 other bums can fight for the vacant belt.

Too many belts too many divisions.

We know that Undisputed is a great achievement. But it's more to do with cutting through boxing politics.

I don't want to knock the achievement, but lower weight division unification doesn't necessarily mean anything. Maybe slightly more than 'lineal' which means nothing in lower weight classes. You can be Undisputed and yet there's an undefeated guy a few pounds above or below that is a better fighter that you can't meet.

The Undisputed and Lineal champion should just be a heavyweight designation. ie they are Undisputed and Lineal without any restrictions.

When there's scorecards like 117 111 for Charlo then it's better if there's no hype. Why would you want casuals to see that Garbage?
