Not this close out from a fight that fighter should be getting his ass kicked in sparring. In the beginning yeah because a fighter is still rusty but two weeks out from a fight; No, he should be at or near his peak A game by then.

It sounds to me that Fury's heart is just not into this fight game anymore. He just can't seem to get himself focused. He lacks both the motivation, will and drive for this fight. Personally, I wouldn't take it if I was him.

I would just retire and come back three years later and resume my boxing career. He's mentally destroyed now and a broken fighter. Which was the reason for the postponement and the forfeiture of the fight because he quit.

Getting beat up at the start of camp? All good, lets you know you need to step things up a gear.
Beaten up 2-3 weeks before a fight? Bad. Really bad.

I honestly don't believe Fury is the balls to the wall sparring type but I also think he's meticulous and needs to go in believing he has every advantage in his arsenal. Getting dropped in sparring close to a fight does bad things to your confidence, really bad things. I'm meant to be fighting myself in September/October and got my ass handed to me by this little guy who fought very aggressively (I'm a tall southpaw who often fights on the backfoot and doesn't impose my weight outside of the clinch...I'm also allergic to pressure fighters ) and it ****ed my confidence for days. And thats despite not having anything on the horizon for at least two months. God knows what it does to a fighter who has a fight in a fortnight.

There is a reason why many camps/coaches dont have their fighters sparring up to two weeks prior to a contest.
This just goes to show how mentally unfocused and unprepared he is for this Wilder trilogy bout. It's a fight that he does not want.

Truly great fighters can adapt in the ring when noticing the original game plan is not working. Clearly in fight 2, Plan A was not working which tells me there is absolutely no Plan B for Wilder. Why? Because he can't technically make the adjustments needed. He does not have the skill set or ability to learn what takes many years to develop. He is a one trick pony that relies too heavily on one hand. It worked for his entire career, until he faced someone that could take his shots and and bully the bully.

Three more months for Wilder to work with Scott. Gotta like Wilder here.

We all saw the bruises on Fury's face from the sparring sessions.

Jared Anderson messed him up, just imagine what a vengeful Wilder will do to him.

Gotta love the armchair psychologists now considering Shannon Briggs to be a credible source of information. The narrative of this fight has somehow gone from the reality of wilder being 0-1-1 against Fury, into Fury being a mental wreck, out of shape, getting beat up in sparring, and scared of wilder, when there's no evidence to back any of that up. We're talking about the same dude who was clowning and licking up wilders blood in the second fight for Christs sake. Wilder fans are trying to hype up wilders new trainer as some sort of messiah which is going to clean up wilders style in one training camp, and somehow eliminate his reflex to start windmilling at the first sign of trouble. In reality it's a guy who wilder sparked in a single round. I think people on here forget that Fury had now had much more time with his new trainer, and very well may have added new wrinkles to his game. Hopefully this fight happens soon enough so that there can be the unification that everyone is looking forward to.
