The sole criteria in boxing is to punch your opponent in the head more times than he hits you for twelve rounds; Unless you can knock them out.

I think the 8oz gloves protection is a myth, the bigger glove n 8oz with trained speed might cause a bigger impact to the all around head but idk just my little thoughts, also boxers just train to beat the f00k out of your head unlike MMA dudes only land a few shots a fight and the one clean shot to the chin is a KO instead of the 36 minutes potential trauma to the head from these supposed pillows that rattle your brain, yup Floyd is smart for staying away from damage

But in MMA your starting to see all these fighters go down quicker now, there all around body's are starting to fall apart, legs, arms, backs from all that punishment, MMA legends are just starting, we had the first wave from the 90s Shamrocks, Gracie's, now the 2000s dudes were a little more advanced, Chuck, Rampage now will see these new guys, McG just broke his ankle/leg, Silvas leg and these are the top guys

Depends how long someone stays in boxing . As per fight yes MMA is probably more prone to injuries like broken bones ,torn ligaments dislocations etc . There’s just to many things you can injure in MMA . However taking blows to the head requires a certain toughness and in the long haul is definitely more dangerous .

Ive done a little boxing so I can somewhat have a good opinion on it ,I haven’t done MMA as I’m to old but it’s clear there’s more chance of injury but in boxing there’s more chance of permanent injury down the line so it’s what you perceive to be harder .
