So if Castano wins & retires, then he gets into the HOF?

He has to do eye catching things, or he'll be out of sight, out of mind. Cleaning out a division is a start, but he's not the only one. Josh, Bud, maybe Canelo will do it. He needs some sparkle, like being a road warrior. Beat Timmy Tszyu in Australia, that would be more eye popping than Castano in the US. The Aussies claim to be rolling in mazoolah, that is what a belt is all about, Charlo can lighten their load and polish his rep.

Well one of them walks to the ring dressed up as a lion so there's that...

Charlo is only a 2-1 favorite cuz the bookies know there will be some home cookin. Castano will have to literally remove Mel's head from his body to get the decision...

Getting into the hall of fame is based on what a fighter will do for the money. Professional means pay, the good get a lot, the great leave nothing on the table. Don't worry about the hall of fame, all he has to do is keep cleaning the table, I heard 10 million in Oz, do I hear 15?

And i'm saying it does not matter what a fighter accomplishes. There are several fighters who did not accomplish much that are in the IBHOF.

Athletes in a sport's HOF should have no equal outside of the HOF. There should be no one but their HOF counterparts who can compete with their resume and accomplishments. This is how it is in every sport.

In the IBHOF, Charlo, can actually be compared to and compete with fighters deemed worthy of the HOF. This is not even an exaggeration. It is true that you can get fighters in the HOF that Charlo is better than/would beat P4P.

And no, Charlo does not "belong" there.

Just pointing out how weak the IBHOF is and how dumb it is for fans to pretend like it's really prestigious and not just some ****** popularity contest.

Fans laughing at Charlo for saying he can get into the HOF with a win over Castano, that's not funny. That's actually something the BWAA would consider given their history. So the joke is on the fans acting like it's some out of this world possibility.

Barry McGuigan made it to the IBHOF for his boxing career. But Eubank, Benn, Froch, G. Hernandez, Tarver have

Arturo Gatti made it in the IBHOF because he was exciting. Let that sink in.

The IBHOF makes zero sense. Ever. So it's amusing when fans try to make sense out of it. Like "Oh so and so doesn't belong there!" LOL.

And I mean relatively easy, probably the easiest of all sports due to their being 17 weight classes and 4 major belts per weight class, plus The Ring belt. Imagine MLB having 4 World Series’ in October, declaring 4 championship teams. Or 4 Super Bowls. Now multiply that by 17 weight classes. Lots of “champions”, lots of ways to get the titles and not necessarily beating someone good for it. Or imagine the Yankees emailing MLB commissioner Bud Selig to make them the World Series champions and Bud Selig grants it to them that. That is the joke known as professional boxing. Politics unknown to the outside world.

With that said, when I say easy I don’t mean you and I can go into boxing, be semi-successful, and make it to the IBHOF. I am saying once you are deemed an okay fighter, your HOF chances are 70-30 (70 not making it, 30 making it), which is pretty high. For comparison, in MLB, 1.5% of players have made it into the HOF. That means the baseball HOF is actually prestigious, and an actual huge feat.

In other sports, being okay to good, to even a great player, does not mean you make it in to the HOF. BWAA inducts steroid users into the HOF and admittedly have said they can’t have as stringent HOF standards as other sports (baseball) because then it would be difficult to induct fighters into it. Lol. So let’s just induct everyone. Everyone gets a trophy. And let’s pick and choose when we should elect everyone. Let’s have Barry McGuigan in but not Genaro Hernandez. Let’s induct Arturo Gatti but snub Chris Eubank and Ricky Hatton.

The IBHOF is just all over the place. No actual standards, just play Eeny, meeny, miny, moe with some retired fighter’s careers.

The whole point of a HOF should be to only have the absolute best there.
This right pretty much sums up about everything that's messed up with the sport .everyone is basically getting a trophy with all the wbc and wba extra titles

As long as Castano can take charlos punch, he should be able to outwork and possibly hurt charlo. Remember, Charlo in most of his big wins has nearly always been behind on the scorecards to win by ko. He loses rounds. Castano by decision
