Hooker and Kavaliauskas can't properly prepare him for that!
Sorry to break it to you but beating Lipinets doesn’t make you a world beater, no matter how talented you are. Fighting quality opposition, time in and time out as Vergil continues to do certainly helps to get them there. As the old saying goes “Iron sharpens Iron” and so far Vergil has impressed me more than Boots in that category. Let Boots fight a legit 147 lbs not a former light welterweight that’s tailored made for his style before you start with he’s ready for anyone none sense.

Ugas, James, or anyone at that level loses to Boots and that would more than prove he belongs. I wont disagree that Ortiz looks the part as well but there is no denying Boots does too. Ortiz hasn't fought any stiffer competition than Boots. Hooker wasnt any different than Lipinets. He was 140 LB guy just like Lipinets.

Please…Don’t compare Boots resume to Ortiz b/c that’s an argument you can’t win. Hooker, Orozco, Herrera, Vargas are far superior than Boots competition other than Lipinets can’t really name anyone he’s fought, TBH. Also, don’t forget that Vergil also came from 140 lbs didn’t start as a welterweight while Boots himself has said he’ll be moving up in weight for his next fight, so don’t expect him to last long @ 147 lbs.

Hooker good solid fridge top 10 140 lb at best it's a reason why he didn't fight in the wbss at 140 and got a gift draw against Darleys Perez, also who never fights tall in any of his fights. Orozco was a nobody best win blown up Humberto Soto, Vargas journeymen Herrera at that stage was high level journeymen coming off a loss. Ennis resume ain't that good either but Vergil supposed to be golden boy next big star and all not that much of advantage. Ennis stylisically give top welters problems according to the eye test. He get hit but he make it look easy sometimes with skillset and athleticism. Although we need to see him fight more guys that pressure and cut the ring off. Ortiz solid pro but his floor is higher but Ennis Ceiling is higher. That whole resume talk don't mean anything when two fighters step in the ring and the other fighter not used to fighting a certain style and lose.
