Almost nobody on Earth is calling for GGG vs any opponent. No one cares.

Almost everyone wants to play matchmaker with Canelo though. “Oh he needs to fight Beterbiev to prove himself to me!”.

Nobody cares about who GGG is picking to fight. He became kind of like Crawford, but with a better resume than Crawford. Much better resume.

When you’re at the top and all critics have to say is how the fighter can’t carry SRL or Henry Armstrong’s spit bucket or some other nonsense bringjng up past ATG’s; that means you made it big and fans recognize this. They want you to fight the best 10 out of 10 times. His critics know deep inside that he is so good that he needs to, in their eyes, deliberately seek losses. Like at this point his critics would take even a DQ win over Canelo.

Now I am not saying that GGG can’t catch fans/media attention again by fighting some top fighters. Just saying, no one is expecting GGG to do that. Nobody is calling for rematches vs fighters who arguably beat him, Derevyanchenko or Jacobs (no robbery just close fights that could have gone either way). But Canelo has to rematch GGG, fight Beterbiev, fight Bivol, and fight Benavidez.

Critics demanding more out of Canelo than they are demanding of GGG just shows you who the superior fighter is.

With all that said, I do think GGG is an excellent fighter, very dangerous and technically sound, obviously. A top 1- 3 MW from 2012 to present, you have to be really good. Plain and simple. And I want to see a trilogy. But Canelo clearly gets held to higher standards by media/critics.

Canelo critics did not pressure GGG to go up to 168, a second weight class in his career, to fight Ward. They were heavily against GGG taking that possible L. But Canelo is supposed to take on the Avengers.

The problem however is that Canelo looks to white European, so that doesn’t translate well to LDBC fans, regardless if Canelo cares for his mixed Mexican people.

For example, recently, if William Zepeda was a ginger, he’d be made fun of as Irish. The freckles and red hair always has it jokes to Vikingish and Irish, yet Irish too have variant ethnicities within themselves. The reason why gingerism is so rampant in the EU Ireland is because thousands of years ago it’s tribal culture specifically bred gingers, paganism essstyle, even though gingerism exists in every culture. Imagine if a Japanese tribe specifically just bred Japanese gingers. You’d get a bigger population of it as time goes on, as is the current state of it.
