Barrera-Hamed, but I have this feeling I may have watched the first Benn-Eubank fight way before that...

The first fight I ever remember watching period was Tyson vs. Douglass, which turned out to be huge because Tyson lost. Does that count?

It was at my former next door neighbors house. they were some crazy filipino pacman fans...

but they loved boxing and for all the PPV's on TV they'd invite a bunch of people over, BBQ, and enjoy the fights.

I remember being young and seeing tyson v. holyfield I.

I wasnt very old at the time 9 i think.

Well since i use to hang out with one of their sons (he was in the same grade as me) i was over there and i saw a good portion of the fight...when tyson bit holyfield's ear i got confused and thought, "they do that in boxing?" haha.

of course i ended up figuring out what happened.

It was exciting but i didnt have HBO/SHO at home and my parents were not boxing fans so over time it faded in my memory.

as i got older and finally got some HBO i started watching the fights on TV. of course i didnt know who any of the people fighting were but i took interest in learning the complexity of the sport and why a certain punch is good for countering this one and so on.

when i was young i thought boxing was just sanctioned brutality...because thats who is portrayed on tv and in the commercials for PPV's...it would always show guys getting knocked out or down.

once i seen this new angle of boxing and really learned all about the sport it was hard not to love it.

the fight that turned me out as a full on hardcore fan had to have been corrales v. castillo I. i mean wow! if you cant get drawn in by that 10th round check your pulse because you dont have one.

                    i love this sport.
