Comments Thread For: Spence: Great Opportunity To Fight Pacquiao, A Lot Of Guys Were In That Sweepstakes

Errol Spence is well aware of the otherworldly accolades that Manny Pacquiao brings into the ring. The unbeaten southpaw from Desoto, Texas insists that no stone is being left unturned in preparation for even the 42-year-old version of Pacquiao (62-7-2, 39KOs). The two will collide August 21 atop a Fox Sports Pay-Per-View event from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, with Spence's WBC/IBF welterweight titles at stake.

Spense has the youth and size advantage but there is no "definitely" in boxing.

Spence, you won that sweepstakes because you're the safest/easiest fight for Manny......T Crawford would have damaged Manny in a serious way....

you have got to be kidding. T. Duckford has no power at 147. Spence can brutally hurt Pacquiao. you don't know **** about boxing.

It's a great get for Spence for alot of reasons. Whoever got Pacquiao provides themselves that opportunity to establish themselves as a legitimate PPV draw (provided they win), it also denies the other competing fighters that opportunity. In the case of Crawford he will have to resign himself to fights with Zepeda and Taylor unless Bob decides to go cross promotion.

Massive coup for Spence landing the fight with Pac that so many coveted. I think Spence should win it fairly comfortably, but it would be a phenomenal outcome if Manny could somehow pull off the win instead.

I know enough about boxing to understand for fact, Lil Mikey Garcia, cherry picker Danny & Porter would not make it past round 7 vs P4P #1 T Crawford.... Pac understands this too, thats why Jr Spence got the fight.... easy $$$$$ for Pac, no danger vs Jr Spence, Jr ain't hurting nobody...

Manny/Spence match up would be a historic fight for both. I would like to note, a Mikey Garcia coming up two weight classes to fight Spence and no KO was an indicator that it won't happen to PAC but the opposite...
I'm looking forward in watching this fight and witnessing Manny pulling it off again...
