Canelo has only fought three times since he left GBP, of course he hasn't made as much money. However, I'd say he's made three big and relatively easy paydays. SMW has pretty much been a cakewalk.

I mentioned Cotto, ggg and Kovalev as some of his last fights under golden boy and you can add Jacobs in there. Without Golden boy he’s faced smith, Yidilgrim, Saunders and next plant. Do those names seem like they’re on par with each other? Were any of these recent opponents on any p4p lists? What were their biggest wins? Do you anticipate any making it to the hall of fame? Hey, if you’re impressed with mediocrity just because they were “champions”, then good for you. Some boxing fans actually are intelligent enough to know that just because someone is a champion doesn’t necessarily mean they’re elite.
Neither knucklehead. Also, come up with something new for a change. He is facing c h a m p i o n s. In addition they are discussing his move back up to LHW to face the big names there. And FYI…Kovalev may have been elite 8 years ago, Cotto (one of my favorite fighters) was borderline elite and his standing in elite territory was also years before he faced Canelo. Same with GGG he was elite years ago. He faced Saunders in his prime as well as he is facing Plant in his prime.

So no I don’t agree with you that he faced better opposition. He is facing close to the same tier and has his entire career.

In his last fight DAZN added more Brits watching Canelo Saunders (Additional not counting existing) than Gervonta did ppv's that's at 4am in the morning on an app in the UK which currently had no UK Matchroom content. ... there are 195 countries in the world to go after this .. Australia next. Hearn ran a Canelo documentary on the BBC to let more people know who is.

Maybe DAZN won't work but Netflix is an app also and the numbers could get very big. If you'er Pepsi or Coke do you want to sponsor the guy who is watched by a few 100 thousand no matter what they pay or millions round the world.

Oscar was making so much money with Top rank and he also left them.

When canelo was stripped of the IBF middleweight title and was not informed beforehand he understood GBP was in control and they did not care about what he wanted. Canelo wanted to be undisputed at middleweight but GBP screwed it up for him.

the same tier? You’re kidding yourself or you’re just too stubborn (or ******) to acknowledge you’re wrong. Even at 36, Cotto, ggg and Kovalev were better than prime versions of smith, Saunders and plant. I won’t even include Yidilgrim because that was a joke. Need proof, just look at the competitive nature of the fights. We’ll exclude plant since that fight hasn’t happened yet but vs Cotto, despite the ridiculous canelo scoring, that fight should’ve been the table going into the last two rounds. Ggg arguably beat canelo twice. The Kovalev fight was close until the stoppage in the 11th. Meanwhile smith didn’t win a single round and Saunders quit barely past the halfway mark of the fight. Yes those names I mentioned were past their best and even so were still better than these mediocre “champions” in their primes.
