sure you can. Ticket sales to a fight only impacted two of his three fights and most of the money that’s made to pay him is through streaming on dazn. Streaming services have increased across the board during the pandemic. The main issue is that while Canelo’s ticket sales are strong usually, he hasn’t generated strong streaming numbers pre nor post pandemic.

He doesn’t have the same popularity as he had on hbo since moving to dazn. Apps have exploded but dazn is literally a single sport app on the USA for what is a niche sport and has very few stars in it that would entice the American sports fan such as how ESPN+ has. If he were fighting on ESPN, FOX, Showtime then more people would see him. I’m not surprised that his streaming numbers have not been released but hey if he’s being paid 20m+ for the bum bashes of late then more power to his billfold

De La Hoya fails to mention that he betrayed and lied to Alvarez, particularly in the fact that the GBP contract with Canelo explicitly said that Canelo had the final say on who he fights. At the same time, GBP'contract with DAZN stipulated that DAZN had the final say on who Canelo fights. That was double-dealing at its worst. Now Oscar is trying to justify his dishonesty and treachery by playing the buffoon and saying ****** stuff. I would not be surprised if some of his fighters bail out at first opportunity nor would I be surprised if DAZN ditches GBP when the current contract expires. It also did not help Oscar keep Canelo's trust when he spent his time on getting high rather than taking care of business.

Canelo made more money with golden boy and also faced better competition. This run of Smith, Yidilgrim , Saunders and soon Plant has been underwhelming and doesn’t move the needle much. With Golden Boy, while he did face guys who were older and past their best days after the Lara fight, at least there was some value to them such as Cotto, Ggg and Kovalev. Right now he’s just facing mediocre title holders who have been less than impressive leading into their fights with him.

you seem excessively emotional and bothered by my post. Are you a member of team Canelo or just a male with female tendencies? What I stated was that Canelo made more money and faced better opposition under Golden boy. Do you disagree? I mentioned Cotto, ggg and Kovalev as some of his last fights under golden boy and you can add Jacobs in there. Without Golden boy he’s faced smith, Yidilgrim, Saunders and next plant. Do those names seem like they’re on par with each other? Were any of these recent opponents on any p4p lists? What were their biggest wins? Do you anticipate any making it to the hall of fame? Hey, if you’re impressed with mediocrity just because they were “champions”, then good for you. Some boxing fans actually are intelligent enough to know that just because someone is a champion doesn’t necessarily mean they’re elite.

I sometimes have to remind myself that many of the folks who post ******ities on this and other sites are not really boxing fans. They are desperate people who make themselves feel better by denigrating those who are successful and are not members of their tribe.
