More smoke and mirrors from Bob. "Crawford could fight this guy, he might fight that guy".
He's fighting zepeda or he's sitting out til his contract expires. Then he's signing with AlComment

I’ll definitely be there, massive Taylor fan, atmosphere would be amazing. One of my biggest boxing regrets is not travelling up to Scotland to watch Crawford vs Burns, Crawford is a guy I’d like to see in the flesh, so I’d be able to put that right as well.Comment

So since this fight blows all other fights out of the water, why not make it now? Why not just pay Catterall step aside money and make this fight before Bud's contract expires in October? I'll tell you why....he needs a carrot to dangle in front of Bud to get him to resign when his contract expires and he nor Taylor have any intention of making that fight a reality. In all honesty, who actually believes that Taylor's handlers would allow him to enter the ring at 147 for the first time against Crawford. This whole article reeks of more Bob Arum lies and bull****!Last edited by Fist_ti_cuffs; 07-08-2021, 12:16 PM.Comment

Take nothing away from Taylor, he fought everyone that he had to fight, you're right... He even has impressive victories....But let's face it, Taylor is not in the same league as Crawford. He's not up there with the top lions in the division yet. He beat Ramirez, but didn't outclass him. He got outboxed at times. And Ramirez isn't in the same league as Crawford. If Ramirez didn't go down twice, the fight could have played out differently. Fighters like Taylor and at one time Ramirez have misleading values attached to them because they have unbeaten records. This doesn't mean that these fighters are A Listers yet. Arum knows that European fighters do very well in their countries - dollar sign-wise. That doesn't necessarily qualify that fighter as a legitimate contender. Taylor can't beat Crawford, and Arum knows this. He's just trying make as much $$$$ as possible. And ill-advised Crawford continues to suffer from harsh criticism from the boxing public that feels Crawford's resume is weak and claims as a P4P title holder is a joke. Crawford needs to stop signing on to fight these lesser fighters, and demand that he gets a legitimate A list opponent. And once again while Taylor has been impressive, he hasn't been impressive enough to get a top title shot. Porter, or maybe even Thurman should get that shot. Now if Taylor is a mandatory challenger, then ok......but we know he's not. The boxing public has been demanding more against Crawford and Arum's promotions.
Why do you think Taylor is "manufactured"? He didn't handpick or cherrypick his way to #1, he fought everyone that he had to. And the way Arum talks about Crawford, I don't think that he's interested in building Crawford's profile/status. I think Arum would prefer to get the title off Crawford and get it on Taylor or Teofimo.
I hope Crawford does not sign another long-term deal with TR, it's time to move on.Last edited by Lefty0616; 07-08-2021, 11:11 PM.Comment

It’s been a minute since I have been up that far north but it would be an excuse to see family in Carlisle and then head up north to see the fights. Perhaps it will inspire more young Scottish lads to take up the sport.Comment

Always a great atmosphere in Scotland as well. It seems they have a good generation of talent at the moment. Beneath Taylor guys like Lee McGregor, Kash Farooq, Mark McKeown etc all have bright futures.Comment
