That was this year, right? And who cares is the fight is next year as long as it happens. Personally, I think both guys need to focus on the tasks at hand because both have serious threats right in front of them.
There is no need for reading between the lines. He is explicit in what he says. "We'll see if I can get a keep-busy fight in between." He is not thinking of fighting Joshua next after Wilder. I don't see why you are being obtuse about this.

Yeah its obvious both Joshua and Fury aren't afraid of each other, they signed up for it and only reason it didn't happen appears outside of their control, definitely Joshua's anyway.
I care about the fight being next though, chances for an undisputed HW don't come around that often, so when it does they should jump on it, pushing it out with tune ups in between just jeopardises the undisputed and for what?

If Wilder miraculously wins, I will lose no sleep. Unlike you who keeps on with all the conspiracy theories just because your idol got destroyed.

I just hope you’ll be as brave as you are now and show up on this platform.
I am here. I don't go run and hide. When the results of the fight comes in on the night of the 24th of this month. You'll see me. I'll be here. However, the question is would you when Fury loses?

I agree as a fan, but as a fighter, I can see how the fighters, mainly Fury, can benefit by the addn'l activity. AJ has had a fight in Dec 2020 while Fury 's last fight was Feb 2020, almost a full year before.

            Lol @ obtuse

My point is, and was, that Fury has been inactive and fights over two months earlier than AJ's next fight and based on that, a stay busy fight is a great idea, not a duck as you are kind of pushing. So unless you're only being captain obvious, I think it's fair to say that what you said was an ignorant statement.

At least you’re being truthful for once.

I’m invested in boxing as a sport NOT Fury so win or lose, I’ll be here.
I’m here even when there are no big fights in play

I think Captain Obvious is closer to the truth. And here you are arguing with Captain Obvious. The situation is self evident.

                  1. Joshua holds all the titles except the WBC. Fury vs Joshua -- presuming they beat Wilder and Usyk respectively -- is also the biggest fight economically for Fury. Therefore there are powerful incentives for Fury to face Joshua.
                  2. Joshua and Hearn obviously want the Fury fight, having pursued it at length prior to the arbitration ruling that forced the Wilder fight.
                  3. Despite saying repeatedly that he needs to stay active, Fury has not fought since February 2020.
                  4. Fury says he wants a stay busy fight; therefore, taking him at his word, he does not want Joshua next.

I'm not saying Fury is scared -- I don't have that power to read his mind. What I am saying is that -- whatever the reason -- he doesn't seem to want him next.

The need to stay busy thing doesn't really pass the acid test given how happy he has been to fight no-one over the last 15 months. Joshua vs Usyk is pencilled in for late September. They coud easily make the fight for December or January. Fury would be facing a lay-off a fraction of what he has just been through.

The facts are the facts son, he’s beaten ONE person, the same person twice. That’s it! Show me in all his glorious career as champion where he’s beaten anyone ranked up to 5th?
go to bed son, go night nights…sssshhhhhhhhhhh
