we've seen this in other sports to show solidarity but not so much in boxing, why is this?
should boxers be taking the knee before fights?

should boxers be taking the knee before fights?

I would like to think that the mentality of a fighter in the ring, especially on the professional level, is so hyper-focused that they don't allow much room for other things such as political issues, human rights, etc. Those things become mere distractions. Boxing, along with other combat sports, is more primal - life or death in a lot of ways. When it's about survival in the ring you don't have time to worry about existential issues or humanitarian crises, you're focused on the job.
Now outside of the ring is a different story.
Or there could also be some sort of contractual thing preventing them from doing so, or fear of being blacklisted, but that remains to be pure speculation with no factual evidence to support it. -

Your ilk takes enough knees as it is.
