personally i dont get Whyte's whole 'easy fight' persuit. He fought Wach...that was supposed to be a tune up.
He was dominating povetkin and then got hit hard. He dominated and beat povetkin in the rematch. All in all that's as easy as it should be getting for him.

Looking for an easy opponent in america is dumb. if he struggles, it looks bad on him. If he wins by ko and it's easy, people will think nothing of it.
He is obv trying to use up the time to wait for a mandatory fight, but that's not happening, his mandatory status was reset, he will only get that shot after any undisputed fight.
Then there's ruiz and wilder, or even ortiz..all pbc. Fat chance of it happening.

Btw guys, Whyte is a free agent, he fights on a fight by fight basis with Matchroom. His best option would be to legit join pbc to force his position with their fighters. There's no chance of al haymon setting up ruiz or wilder for whyte if it isnt an in house card.

i dont give a sh** what promotion it's on, it'll be the same price ppv here (whyte is a sky sports ppv fighter, wont be a dazn uk fight).

I think Whyte is pretty smart and self aware. He's biding his time now because he knows that anyone in the top 10 (ruiz, ortiz, wallin etc) poses a real threat that could destroy a potential payday. I figure he knows that a Joshua ppv in the UK will be there if he doesn't lose again and if Joshua beats Usyk. Whyte is probably aware of just how much luck(along with some favoritism) he's had to get to the point he's in. Fought dirty against Parker and sc****d by with a razor thin decision. Was on his way to losing to Chisora before he knocked him out. He was incredibly lucky that Povetkin got covid. If he lost that rematch he would be ****ed.
Personally I think a ppv Joshua rematch in the UK in the first half of 2022 is there to be made and I think that's what Whyte is waiting for.

Povetkin never had covid. That was made up. He had pics of himself dancing with his wife and then took them all down not long after the diagnosis. i believe he just took his time..and i even believe that he was totally fine in the lead up to the fine, walking normal, until the final ring walk. To me that suggests the guy was either spiked OR he was just putting on an act to excuse the incoming loss.
don't ever underestimate povetkin's mind games.
whyte tried to force the fight for a november date...povetkin just had to pull the covid excuse.

whyte did certainly dominate povetkin until that punch...he was the unlucky one, he wasnt 'lucky to beat povetkin'.
The parker fight wasnt whyte fighting dirty...that literally was down to parker's own tactic of literally barging into a perfectly timed clinch at every opportunity. go and watch that fight again and pay attention to the way parker went in looking to clinch and ended up catching his head on whyte's head. Still, Parker, even now is an elite fighter and beat Ruiz, so by no means can you dismiss Whyte's acheivement of beating him.

Chisora is improved from his younger days due to his experience. He used to be erratic and go head hunting when he was younger which is why he got knocked out by Haye.
Notice the moment chisora went head hunting when he was down 2 points, he got countered and dropped hard? whyte is similar in that respect, he is wreckless too.

Whyte will certainly fight ruiz/wilder/ortiz if the fights are available and both sides do it properly. i dont like ortiz, the way he always calls out guys when he knows they're signed to a fight already. Idk what the plan is there..and i dont trust the pbc would even attempt it.
think about it...if wilder loses to fury..then he will fight ruiz before calling it quits. ruiz would fight ortiz and wilder first in whatever order. Ortiz would prob just end up fighting Arreola or some thing like that.

i wouldnt even mind if ortiz fought someone like daniel dubois if al felt it was better to work with frank warren. i just cant see pbc doing matchroom any favours in making fights.

Exactly, and Martin's been performing better in his last few bouts, plus he is big enough that Whyte won't be able to clinch & grapple his way to a win.

Whyte is not ducking Martin. Martin just wants that DAZN money. That's it. Also, why is Martin not fighting Hrgovic for the chance to fight AJ? Can anyone answer that one?

Why is Whyte in any position to duck anyone? he's clunky, pretty strong and can punch a bit but very slow and just overall not a very good heavyweight.
his best win is avenging an embarrassing loss against an old man getting over corvid.
