When Canelo did 300k buys at the same age Tank is right now it was seen as a huge flop. People can try to make justifications by talking about PPV pricing and revenue share but the reason we see increasing PPV prices is due to inflation. The way he is being hyped I would say doing 200k buys his last 2 fights is seriously underwhelming.

everybody does those numbers in their first few ppvs.

Floyd, oscar, canelo, pacquiao.

He wont reach big numbers until he fights somebody who can talk up a promotion.

In an era where content is free on YouTube, millions of free streams, and a pandemic people aren't going to pay out money I think the best is just a subscription model I'd love to see a boxing channel that is full of replays of historic fights, top amateur bouts,documentaries and big current fights all for say 15 a month price wise something like the Sky F1 channel

They’re marketing to a different crowd. They’re taking Tank to the hip hop audience rather than the boxer audience. An old army buddy of mine was at the fight and he said that was pretty much the angle. A lot of Lamborghini’s, rappers, and video hoes at the fight. So I don’t see them lowering the prices anytime soon. But that forces them to put Tank in with good creditable opponents and I’m for that.
