It's time for Charlo to get in the ring with a real opponent. He did not look too impressive in his last fight. And while he was never behind in the scorecards, he seemed concerned during the fight. He had to dig deep at times. I'm really starting to wonder if Charlo is a contender or a pretender. I don't know if he has what it takes to beat elite competition - I'm talking about the big names in the division. His defense and power at the elite level is a question mark for me.

It's a bad look for the sport as a whole and for all the various promoters that we continually have these problems of the best fighters not looking to test themselves properly. It's damaging both the MW and the WW division. SMW, which isn't the greatest, has become more interesting with Canelo at least just going for it to try and face all the best names. Jr WW is the better for Taylor and Prograis and Ramirez et al having been willing to grasp the nettle and find out who is the best man in the division.

So why can't a Charlo fight happen on Showtime? That would be better than seeing Jermall go 12 rounds with Montiel surely?

Of course the commenters don't bother reading the article. Hearn even mentions this applies to Andrade and they should both fight each other while still in their primes.

Do you really think they read? They see the headline, they see Hearn's name and the trigger has been reignited by how the headlines wants it to be. I never make the mistake of not reading clout/clickbait articles on NSB.

He knows, he is just playing dumb. Wasn't it in the Charlo-montiel lead up that Tom Brown claimed they are not making an offer for Boo Boo? Because DAZN wants to dumb him on PBC etc.... These guys knows the truth, they pretend as if they don't...Fact is PBC model isn't one where they entertain or make offers to other promotional outfit for the benefit of boxing or it fans. If PBC collaborates with another promotional outfit then its because they are at a disadvantage and the opportunity to turn that into their advantage is there.
