I can't think of a worse cherry pick than these two. Crazy they happened within months of each other lol

In modern days your probably right, the Ruiz fight was the biggest shock, I don’t think anyone seriously believed he’d win. The Fury fight was always how many rounds can he out box him till he gets KO’d.

AJ's team have the excuse of being desperately short of time with a date to fill when they picked Ruiz. No excuses for Team Wilder.

I don't see AJ v Ruiz as a cherry pick, Wilder didn't want it, Miller blew it, Luis Ortiz was shafted out of it by his own management with the strings pulled by Haymon so with time running out they picked Ruiz..

Yes they saw it as a winnable fight and yes they saw it as a stay busy fight while they waited for Wilder to grow some bollocks and yes they saw it as an opportunity to sell AJ to America and it all turned in to a bit of a nightmare and couldnt of gone much worse for AJ. But everybody would of been OK with Wilder, Miller or Ortiz.

Wilder hand picked a seriously unfit and overweight drug and alcahol addict with a reputation as a feather fist and a phone call from their management telling Team Wilder that Fury was done, shot, and was in it for a retirement cheque.

Beyonce and his team obviously though he was dead. Only reason he was even considered. Soon Beyonce is gone from boxing.

I suspect there will be more excuses aftee Fury whoops that ass and his team try a blood-from-a-stone cash-out move with a fight vs Ruiz. Which he will probably be a slighr favourite in on paperbut i will bet on Ruiz in that fight

AJ vs Ruiz wasn’t a cherrypick, Ruiz was always a bad matchup for AJ granted AJ at 100% would have beaten him.

AJ vs Ruiz wasn't a cherry pick, it was a last minute replacement when they had been planning to fight the American guy on about 47 different types of steroids.

Fury v Wilder was a cherry pick Wilder himself said he "threw fury a lifeline" when he thought Fury's career was done.
