Roy Jones Junior would stop Canelo Alvarez inside 9 rounds.

How on earth? Is a fighter with slower hand speed, not much movement, and not many gears going to beat Roy Jones Junior at 168 pounds?

I honestly do not rate Alvarez as a all-time great middle-weight 'He is a great fighter, exploiting the under par weight divisions in this era'.

There is no way, that during the 90's or early 2000's would Alvarez be yoyoing up and down the weight divisions like he is now 'There are many fighters that would of beaten him'.

I mean Canelo struggled heavily against a much smaller old Mayweather. Primarily because he was too slow and Floyd too skilled. Roy and Floyd fight nothing alike. With that said, the struggle would be the same but this time his opponent would have been younger and bigger. Canelo realistically has no chance of winning that fight. Just being honest. That's just a level he probably will never reach.

Roy was good, although he had no great wins. He's clearly a level below prime Golovkin and prime Canelo. Roy's best wins are an inconsistent James Toney, the same man who lost to Lucas Browne, and Bernard Hopkins when he was pre-prime, not the prime Hopkins Calzaghe beat, and Hopkins beat prime Roy in the rematch.

Griffin also schooled prime Roy before winning by DQ, which people seem to forget! Viva la Mexico. Nash out - boxing expert.

          Jones.

The person that would give prime Jones trouble is a tall slick boxer with a great jab.

Canelo was nothing then compared to now. His power body shots were non existent then, and his overall power is much better, as well as the fine tuning of his ring IQ. His defence has also come on ten fold. RJJ got battered by Griffin, a man not fit to tie Canelo's boots. I had RJJ 8-0 down vs Griffin in their first fight, or how ever many rounds it was, I can't remember. Nash out.

Roy Jones. His style is made to beat someone like Canelos. It would be like the James Toney fight.

I do think some fighters would beat Roy Jones at 168 but it would have to be guys who look to trade with him rather than guys who look to counter.

Yeah... People IMO got it right. Canelo is a great fighter. His problem is that everything he does well gets shut off against Jones. Nobody is countering Jones... Too fast. Nobody is staying in the pocket against Roy with his power and the way he feints off the left hook. Roy's feet are too fast to get in straight against his hooking attack.

Canelo would look like Toney did.

lol "Battered by Griffin." Really? First of all Griffin was a very slick boxer, who was frustrating Jones. The fight was close and Griffin was dropped in the ninth round before the DQ and second fight. Griffith was able to challenge Jones because he was a highly technical fighter who could exploit Jones technical idiocyncracies... Canelo is not the same kind of fighter by any means. Also, Griffin was a bigger man naturally... So he had size advantages and strength advantages that Canelo would not have... similar to Tarver in this respect.

And finally: When has Canelo ever fought off the back leg like Griffin did?

The round Jones dropped him in was not added to the scorecards. Canelo could beat two Griffin's at the same time.
