Honestly I think this idea of self-promoting to sell a fight is largely overrated. I'd argue Crawford has more personality than Spence and has done lots in terms of media interviews to promote himself. I mean how much has GGG or Loma done to self-promote their fights in terms of personality. Crawford's problem isn't that he has no personality or is not doing enough self-promoting. It's that he doesn't have any interesting opponents that are worthy of a rivalry. Rivalries and 50/50 type fights always create the most interesting sports back stories which creates intrigue and interest. Without that, the fight is far less interesting even if the opponent has an exciting fighting style. The only reason GGG didn't go the way of Crawford was because he actually started fighting worthy opponents like Jacobs and his biggest rival Canelo. Crawford still has not done that and seems to have no hope of fighting his biggest rival, Spence. That makes him kind of boring because there's nothing interesting to look forward to in his future. Especially when goes out and tells people stop asking him about the biggest fight possible for him.

And honestly I mostly blame Arum. He wanted to keep Crawford with Top Rank because of his talent with absurd guaranteed minimums and then did just about nothing to increase his earning potential so he wouldn't take a loss on those guaranteed minimums. Now it's suddenly Crawford's job to singlehandedly promote these weak fights fans aren't interested in so that Arum can make a profit? But it's not Arum's job to provide opponents that will increase Crawford's overall earning potential? Arum has done a terrible job as promoter with Crawford.

I agree. Andrade has been with Hearn for the past 2-3 years and yet Hearn can't even get him marquee fights in his own stable

The funny thing about this is that, literally everybody knows and sees this except Crawford and his most die hard fans. A promoter actually putting it out there is also funny.

He is no rush. Al Haymon is paying well so there is no imminence for him to stepping up his level of opposition anytime soon. He seems to be very content with things as they are standing now.
