  • Comments Thread For: Joe Joyce Reflects on Breaking Down Daniel Dubois With The Jab

LOGIC DETERMINED THAT it was Daniel Dubois who chose to remove himself from the firing line and take a knee in the 10th round of his huge domestic showdown against Joe Joyce in November. Joyce, quite understandably, begs to differ.

There were a few times that JJ could have been in trouble, but he had a durable chin.

It’s a great freaking jab. And he has an iron jaw. His lack of handspeed is what could limit him

I counted Joyce out in that fight but he performed impressively in that fight.

I felt like Dubois had opportunity but was inexperienced and didn't step forward and pull the trigger. I still feel he's going to be a top contender for years to come.

It seems to me that no prospect will ever reach the hw title...yoka, dubois, ajagba...joyce himself go on fighting second tier fighters

Not sold on yoka nor Efe, maybe jared anderson and Hrgovic, but deff Dubois. I wouldnt be suprised to see Dubois in the top 10 by year end 2022. Although some people here think Dubois is a complete hype job, but i had him winning with Joyce prior to stoppage and hes still young.

I like Joyce. So much about him is deceptive. He seems so slow, but lands his shots without much problem. Doesn't seem to have that much power, but stops most people he fights. If you look at his age, you'd think he has to be on the cusp of being over the hill, but never seems to tire. Has some nice technical ability, but likes a good ding dong.

The fight with Takam should be fun.

But why? First decent guy who fought back and he lost. Problem DD has is - he hasn't been in with enough good live fighters to learn the skills he needs to beat a top-level guy. Joyce isn't even top-10

Are you serious? Joyce has had 12 fights and his already fighting someone of Takam's quality. That's a very fast progression!
