Sup guys/girls. I'm from Ceiba, Puerto Rico and I've gotta say...both countries have produced some of the world's best boxers. However, if I remember correctly from an article I read on Ringtv.com a couple of months ago...Puerto Rico is said to have the best boxers pound for pound, or per capita. Something like 60 world champions for an island that contains about 4 million people. This argument will FOREVER be a tug of war. Also, check this out:

On the real, I have always liked PR fighters, great, great fighters. It's just some of their fans I'm not to fond of..............

Like every sport...everybody backs their favorite...and in boxing, it's usually a matter of backing your country. There will be bias and a lot of crap talking going on, but hey...it's all in fun. There are boxers who are better than others, and ones that are just mediocre or not good at all. I gotta admit, I got the back of any PR fighter who steps in the ring (except for Camacho, I never liked the guy, lol)...but like some guy said on these forums, you give a good fight and you earn my respect, no matter which country you're from...PR is the best though :P lol

But you're right...they always bring up the "PR is small" bull****. They get spoon fed by the U.S. and think they actually do everything all by themselves. Mexico nor Cuba nor DR have it good like that.

I would like to add, like I told a dumb ass that claimed the US kept Cuba from "conquering" PR.
Everything we have in PR we have earned through blood and sweat. We have been involved in every war the US has waged around the world even with out proper representation in the US congress.

Therefore, what Boricuas have in Puerto Rico they have earned I repeat with blood and sweat.
