    The fighting pride of West Belfast, Michael "Mick" Conlan, is primed for a summer homecoming for the ages. Conlan, the WBO No. 1 junior featherweight contender, will defend his WBO Intercontinental title against former world champion TJ Doheny in a 10-round showdown Friday, Aug. 6 at Falls Park in Belfast as part of the F?ile an Phobail festival.

    Oh my. Did not think they would put Conlan in such a risky fight with his mandatory position. I think Doheny beats him here

        I guess they think Doheny is ripe for the picking and feel good about their can he's based off their respective performances against Baluta. Tough fight for Conlan.

          Which is weird, cuz I thought Doheny comfortably won that fight and got robbed

            I had it 5-3 for Baluta with 2 close rounds. He won a decent amount of rounds just based on pure workrate and then tired in the last 3 rounds but luckily for Baluta it was only a 8 round fight.

              From what I recall Baluta's fights against Conlan and Doheny were both close. The Doheny was fight was only 8 rounds and TJ seems to be a guy that needs a few rounds to get going. Conlan will need to show something more or will need assistance from the judges to nick this one IMO.

                Conlan better be on his A game for this one. He didn’t look so good against Baluta. Doheny’s experience and grit are going to make it tough for Conlan.
