When canelo moved up to fight Fielding people said "he handpicked Fielding. No way he goes after Smith or the other top dogs at 168". Once he does face Smith and all the other top dogs at 168, the dominant performances are "not impressive in any way"

All winnable fights. Already ahead of the scorecards as well. Spence and Charlo aint taking Canelo's bodyshots. Benevidez might the his hardest oppenent because he is not a 168lb fighter. at least not in my opinion. He hasnt faught anyone that good but he does have pop and skill. His defense is trash though.

this is an absurd comment and comparison. I’m not even sure you follow boxing enough to have made such a ridiculous statement. I won’t count Sanchez as he died young but his win over Gomez is greater than any Canelo win ever. But In the cases of Ali and Duran when you consider the opposition they faced, the classic fights they had, the fact that many consider them the greatest fighters ever at lightweight and heavyweight respectively, to put canelo in the same sentence with them and say he’s in the same class is a slap in the face to boxing history. Especially when canelos greatest win is a controversial win over a 36 year old GGG and according to his personal opinion of his greatest win, it’s against a 36 year old much smaller Cotto.

Nah Spence could be big if he wants to. Industry knows how much Spence drains and camps to make 147. He’s at the threshold. He could easily fight at 154-160. Spence doesn’t have to be thin just because he looks thin at 147. He can just bulk up and get loose the way Duran and SRL did up to 168. Besides, Spence said he’d go to 160 for Canelo for the last 2-3 years. 164 would be fair. Duran and SRL fought at 168. Spence bigger than both of them

Spence recently said 154 is his limit not going to 160.

I wouldn't write Charlo off after one average performance against a determined Montiel. Even the elites have their off days as Ali did with Lubbers, Wepner, and Chuvalo. I am not saying that Charlo is an all-time great fighter but he is explosive and has skills in abundance. He is a handful for anyone at 160-168 lbs.

Problem is he had all the signs of being totally weight drained which is another very serious problem altogether
