Boxing Is Great is laying down some real gems in this thread. Well done lad. Debating with that paranoid personality disorder neo-**** kid who obsessed with black men on social media and making him look like the zealot he is was highly amusing lol

Although it is true that networks and ring announcers should help by letting the fans know what is going on.
One man did that and he was my favorite. He then got fired because he wasn’t a company goon…..Teddy Atlas

I haven’t seen this much back lash over a boxing fight in a while. I never seen these type of articles when Pacquiao was fighting catchweights for Vacant titles. Is it really the wba title you all are really mad at because this not the first time this has happened

It's really simple, if barrios was considered a champion @ the division and Davis beat him, then David is now a champion, he may not be "the champion", but he's definitely a champion... when you play a game, you play within well defined rules & you exploit loopholes, if you do this with taxes, i see no reason why it Can't be done in boxing.

It doesn't matter what other governing bodies think, what matters is what a particular governing body says about their own belts, if they say it's legit, then it definitely is....

The way I see it, arguing with this fact, amounts to talking for the sake of talking

i disagree with lyle, a lot of foolishness is hidden behind eloquence, and if the fact that I disagree is considered "hero worship".....so be it

About that last part, it really cheapened the article by adopting cheap language. He basically used an absolute akin to “if you’re not with us, you’re against us.” Well thought out response you wrote. Well done indeed. Good read.

Nor do I remember Fury’s claim of being “lineal” attacked by the boxing establishment of journalists when we all know that not only Lennox Lewis retired but so too did Rocky Marciano….both without losing their championships in the ring.
there is a term used in law enforcement that smacks of what I see in this, that term is “selective enforcement.” Old police jargon for “we’re not looking for that crime right now, today we are only going after these crimes.”

It was disgusting. Watch any ESPN broadcast and every other word out of their pathetic mouths was “lineal.” The day Teddy spoke the truth and was fired for it by stating Mark Kriegel didn’t s h i t about boxing was the day it died for me. Ol Markie Mark is a company stooge, a boxing know nothing who composes melodramatic fighter stories and inserts fake verbal pauses for effect. So called boxing “journalists”, networks and play by play “men” along with promoters are trashing this once great sport. Some may be off put by Atlas. For me he was and still is the refreshing truth about how corrupt boxing is. For that he was fired.

Welcome to the participation trophy, moisty millennial, pumpkin ****e, soy boy generation.

I'd love to see Davis kick that ass for no belts.
Dont agree with this at all. The problem u have is that the best fighter in the division 'generally' holds the top belts and has usually earned them too. You cant award your fav fighter every fight going and all the belts just cos u dont like the belts, tank would have needed to have beaten loma and maybe teo and tayor, then u can anoint him, certainly not before. Boxing is crap with all the belts etc but thats the system we have to live with & generally the best guys have the belts so until then tank is really just a contender, thats all he actually is, teo stole the guys thunder big time by fighting loma

u trying to say tank doesnt want that picture of him with all the belts strapped to him, thats boxing success, like it or not, trust me he wants that

"So, to call Davis a three-division champion is a slap in the face to Lopez and Taylor – not to mention Armstrong and Alvarez – and regardless of what network or streaming service they perform on, it’s beneath Showtime to play that game."

I agree with this statement! The problem is not Ellerbe or Mayweather. The problem is the WBA with it's 2-3 Champions per weight class! They could easily fix the situation by ordering these "Champions" to fight each other, or to vacate! It could all be cleared up in one year, if they really wanted to!
