Comments Thread For: Watchdogs Fall Short With Davis' Three-Division Champ Claim

By Lyle Fitzsimmons - Gervonta Davis is an undeniably bad man. Or, in boxing parlance... a baaaad man. He fights with a fury reminiscent of those who came decades before, tenaciously engaging in games of violent pursuit and capture until inevitably - at least so far - his hand is raised.

    Yup.
140 champion belt are held by Josh Taylo.
What in essnce tank davis has is the runner up belt, the 2nd place belt, the silver belt but not the 1st place champion belt.

Instead, perhaps spend some time working on comprehension – or maybe get some self-esteem therapy to understand exactly why you get so upset when someone dares not to agree with you.”

Lyle, you don't need any historical support from your senior colleagues. Your writing is pretty good. Express yourself and don't be boring. Write opinion articles too.

For me tho, your opening sentence is enough, Gervonta is bad. Nobody can convince me anyone is better between 130 and 140.

Well, personally, I can do without a hero worship. I like writers with attitude and who don't follow the establishment. Soon there'll be a whole new way of rankings and people.

Nobody sees Tank as the WBA champion. Everybody sees the WBA for what they are, which is a bunch of fraudulent and corrupt individuals. Just like WBC. They’re all just looking for more money. They want that sanctioning fee.

Although it is true that networks and ring announcers should help by letting the fans know what is going on.

It’s quite simple, the other governing body do NOT recognise the WBA baby belt, just like they do NOT recognise the WBA french fries belt. Doesn’t matter what anyone else says.

With this response, Lyle would assume your train of thought is just as bad as Ellerbe’s… and Lyle would be blunt about it too.

Your logic doesn’t even make sense. First, TECHNICALLY, Taylor and Lopez are the guys OVER Tank with belts… You think Fielding was enough and industry wouldn’t know who Callum Smith was to Canelo? Cmon man. You’re acting ******. Second, don’t you want, as a Tank fan, to call out Lopez or Taylor? Lopez and Taylor have to each other as well as calling out Tank.

Look at Canelo. His handlers give industry general knowledge for how to make fights, regardless of a network. AND, Canelo talks about Champions. Tank is being cradled.

It’s a damn good article and Lyle went gangsta like Liston! Speak the truth! But to Ellerbe’s defense, he’s just a puppet to the real masterminds ala Haymon and Mayweather.

i don’t know Lyle’s connection to CBS affiliates, but he’s surely being conservative for the fact that Floyd OPENLY said he doesn’t want to give other networks business (DAZN or ESPN). That has to come from the top and above Ellerbe’s role. It’s really the sit down that Haymon, Floyd and Espinoza have with each other.

and as Lyle wrote, Showtime has really ruined their integrity in the sport. First it was not acknowledging the WBO or Crawford or Wilder vs DAZN and now it’s claiming Tank as a simultaneous belt holder for secondary trinkets. Oh no wait! That was also Fox with those narratives… hmmm… coincidence that Show and Fox do the same thing? Nah.. it’s Al Haymon!! That ego he had saying he could run “HBO better.”

Are Showitme that ****** or, which industry wants to really say, is that Haymon Sports controls the narrative to promote things that aren’t true? It just seems ******. Ironically you’d think Haymon, the Harvard guy, wouldn’t stoop that low. Probably paid some guys from the purple syrup slangings to give him passing grades… even W&R partnerships.. perhaps Haymon just spent cheap cash on Hookers for their board crew. Look at what’s happening… it’s funny and not correct. Lol

we need Hauser to do another proper hit piece on the subject.

this article was Liston beating Paterson fight 1 by Lyle.

the second article is Liston vs Paterson rematch ala Hauser.

                  and that’s all she wrote!

Screw the belts. I didn't read most of this post. Let Lyle do what he wants. You can't argue with someone about belts if they don't give a crap. Holding 4 bogus belts is actually bad for your pockets. If Davis wants Taylor's belts, fight can be made for September. They don't mean nothing. That's why Ellerbe said Taylor brings nothing to the table. He doesn't.

I'd love to see Davis kick that ass for no belts.
