I understand now, Marquez beats all but Quintana, too big and too skilled. He has a size advantage over him. Quintana doesn't lose to boxers, he gets mauled against strong punchers.

Someone in another thread tried saying even Steve Forbes would have been better for Floyd to fight than Marquez... as if Forbes is a more legit challenge at WW than Marquez is... I disagree w that, I think Marquez beats Forbes at WW... and is more of a challenge than Forbes at WW.
disagree.Forbes has fought at WW...against Dela/Berto mind you. Marquez is older and has no experience above 135.

Even though he is not on the list I am trying to imagine blown up JMM against Clottey. The size difference in the actual fight would be huge, and it would really get it through ppl's heads that no matter how good he is, JMM doesn't belong there.

The boxing world scored for JMM

Pacman struggled and lost to 130 pounds JMM. JMM was able to handle Pacman, who was a WW come fight night. The exact same weight as PBF
those arent "experts" those are writers and journalist...thier opinion doesnt hold more water than a judge or even a hardcore fan.

Clottey is huge compared to Floyd

JMM isn't facing a genuine WW like Clottey or Cotto, he's facing Floyd a natural Jr WW

My take is that Floyd's 1st fight back SHOULD'VE been against a legit WW....not a top 5 one...not a champion....but a WW period. He would at least get the naysayers off his back about fighting a WW of his back...and it would've been a good gauge as to what he would need to work on after his Leave of Absence. Floyd is heavily favored to win this fight...and if doesn't KO or even KD Marquez...that would hardly boost his negotiating power atthe table for a potential Pacquiao fight.

The only WW that Marquez could win against is Forbes....all the others listed would get to Marquez fast and early...Marquez struggled early against Diaz in their fight and if it weren't for Diaz being so feather fisted...he would've KOd Marquez. Just my opinon.....

Yes but in this fight he threw bombs at him at the beginning of the fight. What i mean is you don't beat Quintana if you chose to counter punch and box. You need to make him fight, Quintana is a slick fighter.
