By Cliff Rold - Punchers are always welcome. Punchers who take a few to get the job done are even more so. 26-year old two-time Jr. lightweight titlist Gervonta Davis (24-0, 23 KO) is both and has emerged as one of the best ticket sellers in the United States. Davis has sold tickets in his hometown of Baltimore, Texas, California, and returns this weekend to Atlanta, Georgia for his second foray as a pay-per-view headliner.

Well written article, Cliff. You enlighten a lot here. The article could be two. You did well on the first part with only Davis. You didn't even need a conclusion. The Lopez and Taylor thing was interesting too, but you could've left it for another day, another article. Amazing job overall.

Maybe you should go interview Davis about these things!

“Steady but SAFE competition”…man up and risk that 0! Jumping 2 weight divisions? Already fought at 135…Pillow-fisted Lsc falls in the “SAFE “ category - had zero kos in 5 yrs! B-level Barrios is just another “SAFE” fight for Davis..average power/speed, below average defense and footwork..does nothing special. If his last name was not “Barrios”…would not b the opponent in this ppv mismatch.

Fair play to him. I'd say this is his first real test so lets see what happens.

Davis is quite short but a real pocket rocket, a power puncher.

He's a better version of Akhmedov, whom I thought actually beat Barrios, but got the wrong end of the decision..

Well, had another look at Barrios-Akhmedov, certainly a draw could be fair.

Barrios is much tougher and more determined than people think

This fight will separate the men from the boys

Barrios comes to fight, he comes to win. Mario by TKO via body shot

come out and actually pick Barrios…but he dont have that kind of power and will leave himself open to b kod when he reaches down that low.
