The Hearn/Joshua 'offer' came in at 15m around 10/15% of the pot , they knew as everyone did it was so there would be no fight and they were correct. Tyson came in unfit and over weight and made a deal ....the rest is history.
Wilders biggest payday was 10-15% of AJ's at the time and that 15 mil is 5 times more than Wilder had earnt in a fight. The offer was for a UK fight and was not a generating 100 mil and certainly not off Wilders back and he said nobody knows AJ. His next fight didn't come close to a third of 100 mil with Fury (24 mil total purse allegedly and in the US). Wilders best opponent was Ortiz 2-3 mil.
I remember when AJ told Johnny Nelson that he wouldn't let someone rush his career when it came to fighting Wilder. If Wilder ain't an elite fighter AJ shoulda been in a rush to snatch that belt a la Charles Martin.
He did get KO'd by someone nobody considered an elite Heavyweight at the time, I'm not 100% sure the consensus is he is now.. Wilder has only lost to an elite Heavyweight. Can AJ say the same?
Even more irony to this statement is AJ was trying to be like Wilder when DW, slept his "tomato can" but went in for the kill & left out with the 1st loss of his career.
Wilder has only fought one elite heavyweight. He lost badly when Fury was actually in shape
Wilder’s best win is against a guy who hasn’t really got anyone credible on his own resume and hasn’t gone on to fight anyone of note since.
Wilder brought attention back to the Heavy Weight Division. At least for amateur boxing spectators. Most people didn't know, whom Fury and Joshua were or didn't even care. Win or lose Wilder, if he get pass Fury, should get his shot at Joshua.
Stop
talking about when most them are not even born so you've just said nonsense.. he has beaten most top 10 of his era period and most of 80s era are cheaters and most on drugs
That’s truly not saying a whole lot considering the HW division is a complete dumpster fire of trash division. It’s the weakest it has been in over 40 years. ANY top 15 from the mid 80s, early 90s and late 90s and into 2000 would absolutely mop up the HW division today. This era is comparable to the Holmes reign era and I’d even consider this weaker than that.
I wonder how most of you idiot are allowed to post on this forum, Breazeale took much punishment fighting aj in his 17th fight and wilder's 41 or so and Molina beat wilder like a fraud he was until d luck right hand who Aj punished and stop in 4 if am not mistaken
Dominic Breazeale. He took several of Joshua's shots and survived for 7 rounds. It took just one of Wilder's shots to KO him. If he was a tomato can, how come it took Joshua so long to get rid of a tomato can?
Wilder has a decent jab. Sure, he ain't good fighting going back (let's see if he learnt or adjusted) but to make him fight going back, you need to be aggressive and give a few while taking a few. Can Joshua take a few of Wilder's shots? Surely, he won't be dodging them as well as Fury did. He couldn't even make Ruiz fight going back and he is smaller and not a KO artist. Also, Joshua is not a 6'9" 270+ lb guy.
Some are saying Fury was out of shape for Wilder I, but would an out of shape fighter have been able to get up after being on his back hearing birdies tweet and survive the 12th round? Some are saying Fury is the greatest boxer out there and he proved it when he came to Wilder II in shape and knocked him out with devastating punches. But where was that punching power in the Wallin fight that immediately preceded Wilder II. He desperately needed a KO there and could barely get Wallin's attention. A stoppage in that fight could easily have been justified. Then look at tape of Wilder II. The pushing, shoving, open-handed palm strikes to the ear and punches to the back of the head. The holding and hitting. Fury came in and totally surprised Wilder with his strategy, used every dirty trick in the book, and Wilder was over-run, with the help of an apathetic ref who didn't say a word about Fury's illegal tactics. Hell, even Ali used to get warned about striking with an open glove. Surprise attacks don't work twice and there could be a surprise finish in Wilder III. I sure hope so because Fury is a very boring fighter to watch and Joshua isn't a whole lot better.(See Ruiz II)
The 120 mil wasn’t even guaranteed and it was a three fight deal. Wilder turned it down knowing the fight with AJ itself could make far more than 120 mil over two fights. At that time he would have been an idiot to have signed such a deal. In addition no one is a “coward” there tough guy; not AJ, not Wilder, not Fury. That’s fan boi hero worship talk. NO BOXER who laces them up and steps into a ring risking their lives every second is a “coward.” GTFO here with that bulls h i t talk.
wilder is a coward fraud pretender protected by the us establishment. He's had all rigged fights except for Fury 2. he knows AJ and Whyte and Usyk would eat him alive so he has to keep ducking like the fraud coward pretender he is.
Wilder had no leverage or drawing power on his own to be calling any shots. he only possessed a corrupt wbc belt bought by cheating and corruption off don king and his patsy stiverne and protected by sulaiman by blocking out mandatory challenger Dillian Whyte.
if Wilder lands betsy on AJ... he will lose that fight right then and there
almost every opponent - if not every opponent - hit AJ with his best punch... Ruiz hit AJ with ALL of his best punches
in the Ruiz fight... AJ looked a little bit brittle, and he looked mentally weak... AJ is definitely NOT Tyson Fury
AJ could be ahead 11-0 and lose to Wilder in the last round
50/50
..
wilder would not see past 5 rounds.....he can’t fight going backwards , has a suspect chin , has no left hand , no jab and bad balance , Joshua can knock you out with either left hand or right , uppercut , hook and combinations ....wilder has just 1 honey punch and history dictates the fighter with the bigger array of punches wins 9 times out of 10.
joshua has beaten klitchcko , whyte , povetkin , pulev , Parker and is about to face of with usyk and also beat him....wilder sc****d by Ortiz and has lost to every other decent fighter he has faced except for a lucky home cooked draw....end of subject dummy lol
There is a reason why both wilder and fury have run away from the career highest purses.......facts don’t lie and even wilder openly admitted he turned down his biggest ever purse to fight fury for less....to the tune of 60 odd million lol
as for fury he would have made 100 million in August and now he will make no more than 25 million because again numbers don’t lie
