Comments Thread For: Jermall Charlo: I'm Honored To Fight On June 19th, Represent My People, Ancestors That Fought

By Keith Idec - Jermall Charlo cannot wait to headline a show at the big arena in his hometown Saturday night. As much as Charlo appreciates the opportunity to box in a main event at Toyota Center in downtown Houston, the date on which his next fight will take place is important to the WBC middleweight champion, too. The 31-year-old Charlo has taken a lot of time to reflect on the historical and social significance of boxing on Juneteenth, which became a federal holiday in the United States on Thursday, when President Joe ***** signed legislation into law.

To be fair, he did mention he wants Canelo and Golovkin. If he stays at middleweight for a long time and gets these nice opponents like Montiel, he can attempt to equal or beak Hagler and GGG's record of defences.

He's a tall big guy though, so super middleweight should be a nice weight for him. Up there it gets tougher though, besides Canelo, there's Benavidez and Plant.

Add Juneteenth to the weekends that Americans can see as boxing weekends along with Mexican Independence Day and Cinco de Mayo. Well done for PBC, Showtime, and Al Haymon for recognising the need to honour Juneteenth weekend considering the high percentage of African-American champions today and in the history of boxing. Congratulations to the African-American posters on this forum for the POTUS signing this holiday as a federal holiday. Great to see the Emancipation of enslaved peoples recognised and celebrated. Have a great and festive weekend.

You’re an LDBC kid, so let me ask u…What’s going on now with Wilder totally shaming Jermall Charlo about “there’s no racism in Boxing.” Wilder told Barbershop Conversations that Charlo was an idiot and that he’d shame him in front of his face. Did Jermall just retaliate from that video interview with this article?

Well at least there's one thing I can say about Jermall; He sounds a Hell of a lot more intelligent than his brother Jermell. Who says that racism no longer exists in our society. He came across as a complete ignorant, moron and a fool in that PBC podcast.

P huck all the virtue signaling holidays. Wtf is the deal with a holiday to recognize every melatonin type, sexual preference and identity type known to man? How about just a regular damn holiday? Holidays and iden****** by race is nothing but dividing people. Phuck a *******. I like you because of who you are. You’re an army vet and I’m a Marine vet. I don’t give two s hits about the shade of your skin.

No, you have the wrong brother. Wilder was referring to Jermell Charlo who said that racism no longer exists against Blacks in American society.
