Comments Thread For: Jermall Charlo Will 'Just Continue To Fight Fights Like These' If He Can't Get Canelo, GGG, Others

Jermall Charlo contends that he doesn't want to fight an unknown underdog like Juan Macias Montiel on Saturday night. The 31-year-old Charlo would prefer to challenge Canelo Alvarez or Gennadiy Golovkin. The two-division champion would welcome fights against Daniel Jacobs and Demetrius Andrade as well, but none of those fights were available to him during the time frame within which he wanted to return to the ring.

He can get Andrade, but he won't fight him cuz he knows DA ***s him up.
Someone tell these clowns they're not in a position to pick and chose.

Andrade could not even stop a club fighter in his last fight, Andrade is not a big fight and I don't care, but GGG is a joke he is not the monster he once was

Benavidez called him out but Charlo didn't want that smoke. Even though both are on the same side of the street.

So he can stop lying about willing to move up for a big fight.

Jacobs and Charlo both PBC…but fight just cant b made - go figure! Keep on fighting mismatches and enjoy the obscurity, even in ur own hometown. Despite ur bs “event” with Mayor - who am sure got a nice Pbc “contribution” to one of his charities. So much for the Charlos beings ppv stars and only fighting on ppv…that initial double main event ppv must have really tanked!

Why the fooook would charlo move up and relinquish his belt to fight Benavidez for nothing?? Benavidez just trying to land a big name and everyone at 168 is tied up. If he really want the Charlo smoke, why not drop to 160 and actually fight for a belt?

Man, it's hard to take Jermall seriously anymore. He's got so many big fight options (not Canelo), but he doesn't seem to really want them. He should be salivating to make a fight with an aging, but surefire HOFer like GGG. If not that fight, then unify with Andrade or Murata. Hell, if he can't get those then even Lara, Jacobs or Eubank Jr are decent high-profile fights. I give him credit for the Deryvyanchenko win, but his current attitude makes me think he's going to let his career languish when he should be in 6th gear seeking out legacy fights.

Yeah, apparently he's happy to just continue taking "fights like this"; says it all really, doesn't it.
