Also a rematch clause because it's a risky fight, if Joshua let's Usyk get into a boxing rhythm.

I don’t see the problem. Guys putting up 3 titles and a later shot to be undisputed heavyweight champion. If he loses it’s not unreasonable to get a shot to get them back. Part of the game. Usyk would benefit as well from two big paydays like Ruiz.kiaba360

If you want to go further back Ali-Liston = Rematch clause. Or how about Leonard-Duran?
Rematch clauses are standard. You only hear about them when the title holder loses of course.Last edited by Robbie Barrett; 06-16-2021, 06:48 AM.

Not surprised by this not do I think it’s a big deal. If Usyk wins the rematch means he makes bigger money from the revenge angle and takes a bigger share of the fight purse pot. Obviously he doesn’t mind or care so much ado about nothing methinks. I love a good slagging off of Hearn like the next masculine man but he isn’t in the wrong here. His fans are still geeks though…..greeneye99 likes this.

It’s always a bit of a stinger like when Ruiz beat Joshua he couldn’t cut and run and do what he wanted after an amazing win. But it’s virtually standard protocol these days. I’m sure they didn’t accept it easily without a bit of financial compensation too.
Hey if he can beat him once he can beat him twice and he won’t find an opponent that pays him as much as Joshua.
