Also a rematch clause because it's a risky fight, if Joshua let's Usyk get into a boxing rhythm.

Sure, standard in the last 10-15 years; the weakest point in HW history. 20-40 years ago unheard of. The loser moved on and moved their way back up the ladder. HW, and for that matter all divisions are absolute s h I t anymore. Divisions are on lockdown because no one wants to fight anyone else to unify, rematch clauses lock down divisions for 3 years and Social Media has created a fan boi cult following among fans. The age of the moisty millenial pumpkin ****e frappe soy boy crowd has ruined this once great sport.

I don’t see the problem. Guys putting up 3 titles and a later shot to be undisputed heavyweight champion. If he loses it’s not unreasonable to get a shot to get them back. Part of the game. Usyk would benefit as well from two big paydays like Ruiz.

          Lewis-Rahman = Rematch clause
If you want to go further back Ali-Liston = Rematch clause. Or how about Leonard-Duran?

Rematch clauses are standard. You only hear about them when the title holder loses of course.

I really don’t think it’s fair to call Mike Tyson a bum cos he was unfortunate to to jail if he didn’t who knows what he would have achieved

Not surprised by this not do I think it’s a big deal. If Usyk wins the rematch means he makes bigger money from the revenge angle and takes a bigger share of the fight purse pot. Obviously he doesn’t mind or care so much ado about nothing methinks. I love a good slagging off of Hearn like the next masculine man but he isn’t in the wrong here. His fans are still geeks though…..

It’s always a bit of a stinger like when Ruiz beat Joshua he couldn’t cut and run and do what he wanted after an amazing win. But it’s virtually standard protocol these days. I’m sure they didn’t accept it easily without a bit of financial compensation too.

Hey if he can beat him once he can beat him twice and he won’t find an opponent that pays him as much as Joshua.

There's no need to worry about a rematch here.
