Hearn knows AJ and Wilder are gonna keep ducking AJ so Hearn needs big money marquee opponents for AJ and dazn to be happy with return on investment. Best move for Hearn is to have AJ lose to Usyk (fake loss like vs Ruiz) and cash in on a HUGE rematch. AJ sells no mater what if he wins or loses. But rematches after losses always sell much bigger. I don’t see the problem. Guys putting up 3 titles and a later shot to be undisputed heavyweight champion. If he loses it’s not unreasonable to get a shot to get them back. Part of the game. Usyk would benefit as well from two big paydays like Ruiz.

I think that unified titlists should have be entitled to rematches because they are risking every belt they possess. Also, I would guess that Usyk is being paid better than a usual mandatory so that he'd accept the rematch clause.

The division is NOT on hold due to that. If he isn’t fighting his mandatories then he would be holding the division and belts hostage. We know where the belts are, and he is fulfilling his mandatories. The issue is the governing bodies.

He has fulfill his WBO mandatory (Pulev), IBF would be Usyk, then the WBA is next (Last mandatory was Povetkin in 2018), so they should be calling that soon. If he loses to Usyk then the WBA need to remove their belt and get their mandatory out of the way via the number 1 & 2 guys.

The sanctioning bodies are full of shxt. Just look at the WBA for instance: they have 4 titlists right now (Joshua, Bryan, Helenius, Charr). I would have an issue with the rematch clause only if these sanctioning bodies would come together and choose ONE mandatory for unified titlists to defend against. Or, just defend the belt that the respective mandatory belongs to. For AJ to have to face one mandatory from each ABC body, yet every belt is on the line, is ****ing ludicrous. That's why it's so damn difficult to get an undisputed champion.
