Porter was the mandatory challenger for Crawford's belt but there were allegedly shortages of funds in making the fight happen. Porter was upset Arum couldn't come up with the necessary money for both Crawford and himself (Porter). Regardless all Porter had to do was activate his mandatory status and fight would've gone to PURSE BID where DADDY AL could've outbid cheap Arum and given all the money Porter needed for the fight to happen.

Porter did not activate his mandatory status and instead let it expire. Neither Porter nor Haymon were interested in the Crawford fight happening.
