His biggest contribution was taking the light off of the HW's and shining it on the WW's and smaller divisions. Oscar is a legend that has transcended boxing to a place it should have always been at. I grew up in the 70's and boxing attention was on HW's, most fans didn't like the smaller weights. Its different now and thats because of Oscar.
