Business Side of Boxing...Oscar not getting the credit he deserves...HE was the first one to break free from Arum, get with Schaefer and Self Promote...Those May and September Dates was started BY OSCAR DE LA HOYA!

So Self Promoting "Be Your Own Boss" is Oscar's Blueprint...yeah Mayweather may have perfected it but Oscar did it first and he also gave Mayweather that opportunity when he didn't have to and they made history together

Love him or hate him, great fighter. ALWAYS willing to fight the best at or near his weight class and you can't say that about many fighters in the last 20 years.

His biggest contribution was taking the light off of the HW's and shining it on the WW's and smaller divisions. Oscar is a legend that has transcended boxing to a place it should have always been at. I grew up in the 70's and boxing attention was on HW's, most fans didn't like the smaller weights. Its different now and thats because of Oscar.

Yeah I was born in 86 and Oscar is the first boxer I ever heard of apart from Mike Tyson (and Holyfield by association due to the biting incident)

I liked him better when he was a fighter than a promoter.

but you make fair points that he arguably did beat Tito and Shane in those fights.
That's not being gay just a freak. Now Gayweather is a known h.omo. he sucks and sits on di.cks.
