Whether you graduate high school or not doesn't determine your level of intelligence. Fury left school to work at 11 like most gypsy kids. Neither are book smart, their level of education is poor.


Despite leaving school at such a young age Fury shows a level of intelligence far beyond Wilder. He is thoughtful, doesn't give in to race baiting, is introspective and accepts failure which Wilder doesn't. Wilder is just a deluded fool who is surrounded by yes men so his ego doesn't fall apart. Wilder has child like qualities which is why Fury toys with him so easily and makes him into an emotional mess at the push of a switch.
