Can we a appreciate how obvious the winner is for when these belts are made? Like he makes these for every predictable carnelo fight with the mestizo, aztec etc and now the freedom belt for charlo. Its honestly hilariously sad.

I don't actually have an issue with these joke belts, it's when "Boxing fans" who have no knowledge of boxing history tries to solidify them that makes me laugh. I mean we all know they are a joke and more of a trophy, but when you have fans saying "The franchise belt" makes Teo Lopez undisputed in my eye then you start to worry about how impressionable these fans are, just because some corrupt chairman says it doesn't make it so. You keep to the traditions of boxing and it's safe. These belts are seasonal jokes...

I know these special belts are non-transferable so I ain’t got that much of a problem with it but why an earth is Charlo-Montiel being commemorated with a special belt? It’s a f***ing sh** fight.

I actually met Mauricio in Vegas a couple of years back, I cracked a joke about all the belts he creates and he began telling me how more belts are good for the sport. I obviously tried do explain to him how it’s bad for the sport because it dilutes the product but in his opinion he’s attempting to create more opportunities for the fighters.

I’m not sure whether he was playing dumb or is that delusional but either way I think the WBC are just gonna keep making more and more belts regardless of what fans think or want. There’s already far too many but it’s only going to get worse I reckon.

Well that's the problem man, most fans of the sport, or spectators are casuals. It is a very small percentage who really know about the history and real reason for championship belts. if this nonsense continues with the ****** belts, the ignorance will only get worse and increase.
