If Elkin can take Shield's punches (as female boxers were able to), Or with the MMA gloves and not being used to Shield's level of striking (light as it may be for other boxers) will Elkin go down as soon as she's hit.
You make it sound like Shields is a KO machine. I'd be more worried about how Shields reacts to getting knees and elbows in the face. And Shields getting hit with MMA gloves. Shields is the one crossing over. This Elkin chick, that's all she knows is MMA gloves, knees and elbows.

How does Shields react to someone holding her with 2 hands behind her neck, while standing up, and getting kneed under the chin ? How does Shields react to getting elbowed on the eye socket. How does Shields react to getting cracked by MMA gloves. Shields better hope she's fighting MMA's version of a " stiff "

The biggest fight out there for Shields is Amanda Nunes. The supposed best in Boxing, Shields, against the best in MMA , Nunes. In a Boxing ring, with boxing rules. Technically that would give her the edge so there's no reason why she should complain. Nunes fights at 145, Shields at 155. I'm sure they could figure out a weight to fight at. That's a fight I'd watch. I got Nunes by KO in 4 or 5. She hits like a mule.

          This.

And if this fight goes to the ground its probably gonna get ugly for Shields & based on what I saw in her workouts idk if she'll get back up. I think this is a riskier first fight then most boxing fans seem to. Amanda Serrano made her pro MMA debut vs an experienced losing record girl too & she got held to a draw. Experience is important in MMA. Its very evenly matched so a losing record don't mean the same thing in MMA as it does in boxing. Claressa's athleticism will probably pull her through this one with a W, but I wouldn't be surprised in the least if she got upset.

Hopefully she can be very successful in UFC.

Women's boxing just isn't there (money wise)

Better shot with UFC to make some $ for a woman.

            Good luck to her.

I don't know who will win because her opponent does have more experience.

Nunes wouldn't be released by Dana White, because one Shield would beat her easily and two it wouldn't make as much money for both as shield really doesn't bring much to the table in terms of revenue, I can however see Dana White allowing Nunes to fight Katie Taylor, who is around the same weight as Nunes and brings much more money to the table for everyone involved in the process.

Perhaps I did not make myself clear, so let's try again. Shields hasn't been capable of stopping many of her boxing opponents: however, perhaps with lighter MMA style gloves combined with Elkin's non-boxing background MMA opponents (so most likely she really hasn't been hit by someone with Shields' power, precision, quickness), Shields will be able to hurt Elikn instantly. I hope that clears things up. Obviously Shields isn't a knockout artist in the boxing ring as her record shows; however, that doesn't mean that she won't be highly effective against Elkin. We'll see tonight.

Shields weighed in at 155? She needs to get down to 145 for UFC

Jon Jones trained with her and said she's a natural fighter.
