    Mayweather-Paul sold over 600k PPVs

Early pay-per-view numbers according to Dave Meltzer:

The Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Logan Paul fight yesterday ended up being a big success on PPV, at least based on the very weak advance. Based on U.S. television buys, not including international or streaming, the verified number we have based on limited data although covering several million homes was 11.9 times what AEW Double or Nothing did. So that probably falls in the 600,000 to 650,000 range but any number this early with limited data is a very rough estimate. It was a Showtime event and they are a public company so most likely they will announce an estimate (that will include streaming numbers so a number much higher than this) later in the week.

Figures Meltzer would consider that a success. He has no idea.

There was so many people ordering the fight that the streaming service locked up and you couldn't get on it for a short period. I had to chat with somebody named Charmaine with Showtime to be told their technical team was working on it.

If true that’s a huge loss. They were talking 3 million buys prior to fight. If Floyd was guaranteed $30M and Logan $20M, I’m not sure where it’s coming from. Even if it’s 700K buys at $50 each, that’s only $35 million.

Yikes. They overpaid both. Wonder how they'll recoup. Floyd probably put his properties on collateral if the ppv sells didn't reach at least a million as promised.

Literally every PPV number I see from any fight, sounds like BS. It's either inflated, or someone going way low. No way this did less than 1 million buys

They see the numbers almost instantly now. Meltzer has connections with the cable providers. He used to report WWE PPV numbers the same night before they changed models and he reports ratings on UFC many times first.
I can believe it. Nearly an empty stadium and just because it’s trending doesn’t mean people are paying for it. I don’t know anyone that bought it and I have a circle of friends and family that regularly buy UFC and boxing PPV’s.

We will never know the exact Numbers but I'm sure Showtime will Embellish the Final Numbers and say it did over 1 Million Buys or something like all these Networks and Apps do
