    Did you read the article?

Louis held exhibitions against actual heavyweight boxers and knocked out four of them.

    Talk about apples and oranges.

Since you keep pulling in the Joe Louis card when talking about Floyd, let’s give you a taste of your own medicine, shall we?
Joe Louis fought 41 exhibition fights and made $210,000. Proof below

Did those fights ruin his legacy in your opinion?

I wonder how many pints Ricky had when he said this.

I do agree with you. Overall big picture.
People are biased in general and the best example is the Berto anger. Most of The same people that criticize the Berto fight, have no problem at all with the PAC-Margarito Catchweight or Cotto-PAC Catchweight fights or even PAC fighting guys that were literally coming off losses and had no business being in the ring with him (Broner, Rios, Mathysse, Clottey, Mosley etc).
I consider all of those fighters to be bigger threats than Berto but the point was that Floyd milked the 50th win when he was technically considered the best fighter in the world at the time he retired with plenty of available and worthy challengers. Boxing deserved better. But me? I couldn't care less because Floyd lost to Castillo in my opinion anyways and didn't go undefeated. (not a hater, I respect Floyd's boxing ability and his business sense, even if he always benefits the most)

I don’t consider mayweather to be the best ever but one thing has nothing to do with the other. Logan Paul getting a round or 2 against a 44 year old Floyd in an exhibition in no way impacts what mayweather was in his prime. Damn near all of the greats weren’t even in the ring at 44 and if they were, they were getting beat down by guys the would’ve destroyed in their primes.

you are comparing floyd fighting unranked berto to pac fighting clottey who was a top fighter coming off a debatable SD loss to another top fighter? i guess context does not matter at all. you think pac fighting cotto at a catchweight is comparable to floyd fighting a bum? what do you call floyd-canelo then? thats at least a good fight its just ****** that 2 champs in the same division fought at a catchwegiht. pac and cotto werent even int he same division if you remember...

I don’t think there’s any boxing fan that appreciates Floyd was ok with the Berto fight. I am a big fan of Floyd and I critique that fight in the way it deserved. It wasn’t worthy of Floyd. There were better fights to be made.
I also don’t think you considered Rios or Mathysse or Broner or even Algieri who was a virtual unknown before PAC fought him, bigger threats than Berto. PAC could have fought better guys.

As for Castillo, boxing is riddled with decisions that favored big name fighters. Oscar got beat by Sturm, Hatton got beat by Collazo, Ward arguably got by Kovalev the 1st time, the list goes on but you don’t hear about those guys. It’s only Floyd’s name that comes up even though he rematches Castillo and beat him easily. FYI, I don’t think Castillo beat Floyd.

I know you don't even though when people who say that same thing, they can never tell me which rounds Floyd clearly won and ignore the fact that compu-box tracked him landing around 100 punches more than Floyd and it was actually even more than that when analyzed closer.

P.S. Every boxing expert worth their salt had Floyd either losing that fight or a draw and the rematch is irrelevant for that result.

I will watch that fight again. I’m always open to changing my mind when a compelling debate is sowed.
I was never a fan of Hopkins for years until I stopped myself and just focused on the totality of everything. Today you couldn’t tell me shït about the guy.

I can't stand racist @ss Popkins either but it's hard to deny his extaordinary brilliance over such a long period of time. He's is def one of the all time great MW's. That said, I had a huge laugh when he got waxed by a 'white boy' and booted into retirement in style. Karma is a b@#%&!
