Comments Thread For: Luis Arias Shocks Jarrett Hurd, Wins Decision in Action-Packed Fight

MIAMI GARDENS, Florida - Luis Arias backed up his pre-fight talk this time. An aggressive Arias upset former 154-pound champion Jarrett Hurd by split decision in a 10-round middleweight match on the Floyd Mayweather-Logan Paul undercard at Hard Rock Stadium. Arias landed hard right hands throughout their bout and delivered on his promise to lure Hurd into the type of brawl that benefited Arias, who fought for the first time with respected Cuban trainer, Ismael Salas, in his corner.

So disappointed in hurd. He took a beating from a guy who was much smaller and who lost to luke fkn keeler. A unified champ who had beat lara trout and harrison to luis arias...he should just retire he has been found out.

Fan of Hurd but had a feeling he was going to struggle in this fight and even possibly lose. Arias is tough and scrappy while Hurd hasn't looked good since the Welborn fight. He won that by stoppage but still looked "off". Unfortunately, I just don't see him getting his mojo back but will continue to be a fan.

Arias showed a king sized heart in there. Congratulations to the Afro-Caribbean lad from Milwaukee. Happy to see him win and happy that he didn’t get robbed in what was an absolute war

Right guy won. But it should've been a clear unanimous decision for Arias.
