Munguia has been Andrade's mandatory for over a year, but continues fighting bums. For every one El Gallo Estrada, there is also a Jaime Munguia.

Holly fūck is this guy soft-matched. GB is really hoping he gets better but C’mon, another 5 years of leftover opponents? Even Mexicans will start to switch off of this guy.

The problem goes back to 2017 when a very shopworn Miguel Cotto won the vacant WBO 154lb title against Kamegai. Cotto then loses the title to a blown up welterweight Saddam Ali who loses to big 154lb, 21 year old Munguia. Munguia is vaulted into championship stardom well before he is ready.

Since then, his promotional team has been trying to buy time with carefully chosen opposition in the hopes that he can develop into a proper championship quality fighter.

He's had 36 pro fights, and unlike most Mexicans he's had a ****load of amateur fights. If he hasn't developed yet...

It's a turd. Just like Davis/Dirrell or Plant/Truax (PBC) or Stevenson/Kahn Clary (Top Rank). No promotion is innocent of this crime.

I don't disagree with you. I think what we see with Jaime is essentially who he will be in the future. His promotional team is trying to keep him active and undefeated until the cash-out fight.

Which would be what, exactly? Munguia vs Andrade sells 25 tickets and 3 PPV's. Are they still trying to set him up against GGG?

Top rank has had big fights this year valdez/berchelt, ramirez/taylor. PBC has Pac/spence and wilder/fury scheduled. DAZN spends more money than everyone else combined and they have no big fights. AJ/usyk is trash and that will probably be there biggest fight of the year.
