The peanut gallery wanted him to be depressed. They wanted him to think that he was nowhere on Fury’s level. They wanted him to disappear after they “saw” a perfectly fair fight. In a nutshell, they felt he was useless if he couldn’t knock out his opponents - and hoped he never had ambition enough to “come back.”

Their go to strategy was to ignore him. To talk about Fury/Joshua like it was a forgone conclusion. To completely ignore anything Wilder had to say as “rubbish,” because he made “excuses” after his 1st illegitimate loss....something these so-called fans of boxing would never do in their personal lives.

Too bad Fury cheated in both fights, his so called ‘power’ was offsetting to Wilder because it wasn’t real. Never mind skills, because skills are effective with a certain level of power.....it’s one of the reasons Lara lost against Canelo, his pitty pat punching power and style was useless as his choreographed movie points scored - barely even touching its target. Maybe if Lara did what Fury did he’d have “beaten” him.

I think it'll be hard to do better than that 2nd fight. That was a massive ass whooping.

I do expect Fury to win. I mean I just don't see much of a path to victory for Deontay. He's got the right hand or the right hand. And he's failed at that over 19 rounds already & failed really bad in those last 7 rounds. I don't see how much can change for Deontay in the next 12 or less rounds.

Great post this one. Wilder has a small chance of victory. It's not negligible, because we saw a glimpse of how it might happen in the first fight, but the strong liklihood is another win for Fury -- but, as you say, it's hard to see it working out quite as well as the second fight.

I do think Wilder is over-optimistic about his chances. I think he is playing this third fight out in his mind and he lands that right on the big bald man and down he goes. The first and second rounds are going to cycle by, though, and he is going to find everything that was hard before is still hard, that nothing is any easier than before, and he is going to get a sinking feeling...

100%. And I suppose he should be thinking like that, but the cold hard reality of the fight itself is gonna be a quick change of confidence. Fury gots too many tools in the toolbox & idk that Deontay could improve enough as a overall boxer in 18 months, or a decade, at this stage of his development to surpass Fury enough to the point he's not reduced to his success or failure being about landing that right hand.

Wilder lying about not being depressed, Fury lying about being depressed. This is heavyweight boxing ladies and gentleman.

People say that Fury is lying about being depressed, but why was he giving interviews to newspapers in 2011 talking about wanting to kill himself?

This was before everyone jumped on the mental health bandwagon, and before Fury failed any tests etc.

If anyone can explain, I'd appreciate it.
