If I remember correctly in a few video interviews, Eddie Hearn addressed the disappointment by the British public in that they were not getting A.J vs. Fury at Wembley. Despite the prevailing circumstances caused by COVID-19, Hearn made it clear that the biggest purse for both Joshua and Fury is in Saudia Arabia -- one of the reasons why Ruiz-Joshua took place in middle-east and not in the UK or the U.S.A.
Laughing at Bob Arum investing in Tim Bradley, and losing 10 million
Sure, but even if they didn't get a huge site fee from SA, they would have still put it in the UK if fans were allowed in full capacity. Arum threw the white flag and never even tried putting the fight in Vegas or anywhere stateside. TR just keeps throwing excuses after excuses for why certain fights can't happen with Crawford. It is what it is at this point.Comment

That is assuming if Bob is telling the truth or not about that lol.

Erroll Spence, Jr is absolutely right. That's why Al Haymon is the greatest mover and shaker in boxing on earth.Comment

The UK is not even fully open nor can they fill up a stadium like Wembley.
I've repeated myself like a million of times here but it is obvious what is happening. Unless Arum has a huge site fee from the Middle East or if another promoter is responsible for their fighters purse, Arum simply is not going to risk it with Crawford. He keeps saying he can't sell and he has no confidence in him selling PPVs. Arum feared this was going to be another Pacquiao vs Bradley situation where TR supposedly lost like 10M on the fight. Personally? I think Arum is underselling just how well Crawford vs Pacquaio could have done or even Crawford vs Porter.
Bradley promoted the HELL out of that fight - with the fake rematch ticket and everything. And it still lost money.
Crawford refuses to self-promote at all and he damn sure doesn't half entertain at the pressers.
Both guys were coming off C-level wins. Casamayor might have been a solid fighter in his prime, but he was at the end of his rope when Bradley stopped him, same as his buddy Crawford with Brook.
That's why I don't put stock in Crawford's stoppages because it's the same thing as Bradley - it's against lesser guys with their most significant legit coming many years prior (for Bradley, that was Junior Witter).
Bradley got upped a bit by beating Marquez, but let's be honest: Dinamita was also at the end of his rope by that point and it was a stylistic nightmare.
Ultimately, Arum has himself to blame for his matching. It sets guys up for financial failure down the road. We've seen it time and again. Only those guys smart enough to leave, end up successful.Comment

What BOTH Keith and Shawn said is that they weren't accepting that ridiculous 1 million dollar flat-fee Bob threw out there.Last edited by FLY TY; 06-04-2021, 10:54 AM.Comment

No one is asking for Canelo pay days, relax lol. Kenny Porter didn't even demand anything with his meeting with Arum and just asked for a ballpark offer and Arum never got back to him. It's actually easy to see what is happening here and it's not one guy getting blackballed....Unless you are talking about him getting blackballed by his own promoter?Comment

Lol its an investment. Gaymon hoping in the long run spencer will be a star since his shine was fading. Definitely would of gone off if he fought ugas. So he pretty much had no choice.Comment
