I've wanted a Four Kings documentary for a long time, glad it's gonna be a series.

Showtime did a great job with the Hector Camacho documentary, so I have high hopes for this one too.

Showtime going the documentary route now that HBO has been out of the business for a few years now.

This is a good quartet of boxers. But to make a special quintet (5) you have to add Deontay Wilder to the mix.

I can’t wait for a May vs Pac documentary! That is going to be fun! Hopefully within the next 15 - 20 yrs. I remember being a senior in high school talking to my friends at the lunch table about a potential Pac vs May fight, a little bit after Mayweather returned from his “retirement.”

Yeah I thought he looked like Margarito as well, and I thought Hagler looked like Holyfield.

An atypical yet thought-provoking post from what we usually see - a critical appreciation of boxing media, namely celebrating those fighters who are seen to possess crossover appeal, but also how limited the scope is for fresh storytelling. A well-written post indeed.

I think 'Bleed for This', and 'The Fighter', whilst not documentaries were very good, and while any sporting documentary has many clichés and worn-out tropes to navigate, over-editing and being self-indulgent when producing such a piece is fraught with pitfalls.

One doco I enjoyed but was ruined by lack of access to rival libraries was 'Destiny', the story of Kostya Tzsyu's fall and rise to become the undisputed champion of the 140 pound division. So many fights that were integral to the story were reduced to footnotes and casual mentioning.

Who will we look back on as the greats of this generation?

It has been only little more than a single generation since the 'Fab four', yet they have passed into the halls of boxing nostalgia and legend - representing the end of the 15-round championship bout and the beginning of the three belt era.

Hahaha, and they got Leonard looking like Chuck Berry in there too.

Can't wait for this though. Showtime came through big time with this one.
